TEMPORARY SUMMER (with possibility of F/T in the fall)

VACANCY NOTICE

TITLE: Licensed Practical Nurse Civil Service: Non-Competitive

6-Week Summer School Position Affiliation: Employee’s Association

Exceptional Education Department Location: Smith School / BOCES Campus

DUTIES: Perform 1:1 routine nursing services in the care of a student with special needs. Administer medications in accordance with specific instruction. Collect data, perform observations, record blood pressure, temperature, pulse and respiration rate. Administer prescribed treatment to students according to New York State Education Department guideline. To be assigned to a medically fragile student in full day Special Education classroom at BOCES main campus. Work as part of classroom team. Some travel on school trips may be required. Ability to lift 40 pounds. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: New York State Licensed Practical Nurse.

SUMMER WORK DATES: July 10 to August 18, 2017 (6-weeks) (30-day summer program)

(Position has the possibility to become F/T in the fall for the 2017-2018 school year.)

SALARY: $17.11 per hour (6.5 hours/daily – 32.5 hours/weekly for 6 week program.)

If position becomes F/T in the fall: $19,608.00 (2016-2017 full-time base salary to increase with 2017-2018) with additional salary credit for related experience and/or education would be applied. Excellent benefits would become available.
