VOLUNTEER HELPER FOR BEAVERS, CUBS AND SCOUTS
A Scout group is looking for volunteers to help with their Beavers, Cubs and Scout groups. This opportunity will involve helping organise games and crafts for boys and girls aged 6-14 years taking part in games, working on projects and following programmes in accordance with Scout schemes. Outside activities involve helping at nature walks, BBQ's, fundraising and cub and beaver badge work. Badge work has instruction and training given. Skills and art work and group games are fun.

EVENING RECEPTIONIST VOLUNTEER
An organisation is currently looking to recruit evening receptionist to volunteer alongside a team of Counsellors and other Receptionists and be line managed by our Relationship Support Team Leader. Key tasks are:
• Welcome clients into the centre , • Ensure the counselling room is arranged suitably• Complete some minor administration
Volunteers should be reliable and committed to the role, have a caring attitude and a desire to help people. Time keeping is also important to make sure volunteers arrive at the centre on time.

VOLUNTEER DRIVER
Volunteer drivers are required to drive a minibus for a Children's group. The driver will be required to pick up the children from their home and then return them home after their group time. The journey is an important part of the group time. All the children enjoy the minibus journey and usually value the driver being a consistent person that they get to know. A volunteer is always on the bus alongside the driver.

IT TUTOR
A Falkirk computer club is looking for enthusiastic and confident volunteers to help their "over 50's" members to extend their knowledge of IT and have fun using computers. They have a lively group with 8 - 10 members who meet weekly in Falkirk.

SUPPORTER OF VICTIMS AND WITNESSES
An organisation needs volunteers to support victims of crime and witnesses attending court throughout the Central region. Volunteers may be involved in a range of activities, including making contact with victims/witnesses by 'phone, supporting witnesses attending court and visiting victims in their own homes to offer practical and emotional support in the aftermath of crime. They have Victim Services in every council area in Scotland, and Witness Services at every High and Sheriff Court.

VOLUNTEER COURSE MARSHAL
An organisation which seeks to encourage participants to take part in a free timed run every week are looking for volunteer course marshals. There are a number of marshal points on both courses that require people to ensure participants are following the course correctly as well as encouraging them as they go. Marshals are asked to be friendly and supportive at all times. Volunteers are required on a weekly basis to assist in the marshalling of the course and encourage all participants to do their best.

CHILDRENS GROUP VOLUNTEER
As organisation is looking for volunteers to help with their childrens group. Tasks include:
•Volunteering with children of primary age from 5-13 years.
•To support and be part of the team that supports the children's group work.
•Help plan, facilitate and evaluate group work sessions, participating in games, cooking, craft and other activities as well as outings.
•To be part of the overall group dynamic.
•Support children in the mini bus as part of the group.

BEFRIENDER
A Befriending Project is looking for befriender volunteers to offer support in a “good neighbour” way to individuals and families who are socially isolated and are coping with illness or frailty in the last year or so of their lives. Volunteers will also have opportunities to participate in training new volunteers. It is hoped volunteers will become “hospice ambassadors” within their own communities. This is a really rewarding opportunity. There are many different requests for support so there is something to suit almost everyone.

VOLUNTEER ADMINISTRATOR
An exciting opportunity has arisen within a long established local community organisation based in Falkirk. This is a unique role involving a varied range of daily and weekly tasks working as part of a wider team.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Sourcing relevant opportunities for the organisation members to participate in
•Liaising with local organisations and promoting group services
•Organising events suitable for the group
•Assist with the further development of the organisation and maintain administrative processes and procedures

MOTHER AND TODDLERS CRÈCHE VOLUNTEER
A local group requires volunteers to help with their mother and toddlers crèche. This provides opportunities for parents and children to meet and socialise in their local area.
Duties include:
•Set up and clear away the hall for the group•Set up and offer snack and drink facilities as well as take a small payment
•Volunteer alongside and support the community hall committee and parents of the toddler group
•Help prepare and set up for the activities for the once weekly session, including preparing snacks, handling money and being involved with childrens play activities indoors and out.

COMMITTEE MEMBER
A self help group are currently looking to recruit committee members. As a committee member volunteers would be expected to attend quarterly committee meetings as a minimum, and as many other events as they were able or wanted to attend. The group need help in general administration and organisation, including booking speakers and entertainers, and organising occasional events, a membership secretary, someone who can write or assist with publishing a monthly newsletter, publishing the calendar of events, and any other jobs that come along.

VOLUNTEER AMBASSADORS
Volunteers are needed to promote specific health and wellbeing messages while also raising awareness about the benefits of volunteering by engaging with the public in the Falkirk area. On a regular basis the volunteer will work within a small team to promote a different health and wellbeing messages which will relate to current health and information campaigns and awareness weeks/days. Volunteers will be given full training around the specific topics in order for them to feel comfortable and confident in engaging with the public. Volunteers will attend outreach events providing information, distributing leaflets and signposting the public to the appropriate service or organisation.
Volunteers will also be expected to promote the benefits of becoming a volunteer and encouraging people to volunteering.

NHS TRAINED PERSONAL FOOTCARE VOLUNTEER
A project which provides a personal foot care service for people over 50 who have difficulty managing their own foot care are looking for voluteers. This project aims to support the work of NHS podiatry services, allowing them to focus on quality care for those who really need it. Volunteers will be trained by NHS Forth Valley to perform a basic foot health check and to cut and file toenails. Training will be through formal sessions and a period of shadowing a podiatrist.
