Regional League 2014: "Football NSW Development Program for U12 to U15 boys"

NSFA will be selecting players to represent NSFA is the FNSW Regional League in 2014.

Trial date: 8 December 2013

Trial location: Mills Park (Baldwin Avenue, Asquith)

  • 4pm: U12 and U13
  • 5.30pm: U14 and U15

Who can play for the NSFA Regional League teams?

Players need to be registered to play for a club that plays in the NSFA competition in 2014. FNSW allows dual registration for this competition. This means players can play both for their local NSFA club and also the NSFA Regional League team.

What Age Groups are in the Regional League?

•U12 (for players born on or after 1 January 2002)

•U13 (for players born on or after 1 January 2001)

•U14 (for players born on or after 1 January 2000)

•U15 (for players born on or after 1 January 1999)

Is the Regional League for both boys and girls?

The Regional League is for boys only.

How many players will be selected?

Up to 16 players in each age group

Can you play an age group up?

All players are to trial in their own age group. Assessments will be made by the coaching staff to determine if it is in the player’s best interest to play an age group up.

Announcements regarding further coaches will be made shortly; each team will have a suitably qualified coach. The Regional League goalkeepers will train with the Northern Tigers Goalkeeper coach and the Northern Tigers youth goalkeepers.

How many training sessions and games are there each week?

There will be 1 training session per week, as it is assumed players will be training another 1 or 2 sessions a week with their club team. Games are scheduled once a fortnight; there will be up to 10 games in the season.

When and where will training be held?

Training location, day, time will be determined once the squads are selected. Training cannot clash with the selected player’s club training night/s. Goalkeeper specific training will be on a Tuesday afternoon.

When and where will games be held?

Home games will be held at a ground within NSFA on a Sunday (U12s start early in the morning, followed by U13s, U14s and U15s in the early afternoon). Away games can be scheduled for a Saturday or Sunday and will predominantly be in the Sydney metro area, although 1 or 2 games will be in regional areas like Nowra and Bathurst.

How long will the Regional League season run for each year?

Training will commence in early February, the competition season will commence at the end of March and continue until the end of August.

What is the cost?

The full cost of the program including player kit, professional coaching, equipment, games, and registration is $650 plus GST. This fee is in addition to your local NSFA club registration fee.
