MEETING MINUTES

BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT:

John Scully, President

Craig Southerland, Vice President

Renee Beckham, Treasurer

Gala Langley, Secretary

In addition to many Chairs, parents and booster club members present was Coach Eric Littleton.

The meeting was called to order at 6:05 pm.

John opened the meeting by welcoming the returning families and freshman families to the program. Shawn Boyd made a motion to approve the minutes from the May 2, 20l6 meeting. All were in favor, motion passed.

Galaintroduced Renee Beckham to the membership as the new treasurer after the resignation of Tami Stewart. Gala reviewed the new proposed Budget for 2016-2017, highlighting the girls and boys concessions split, the increase in locker room budget, and the increase in the reserve item. Karen Hanley made a motion to approve the 2016-2017 Budget. All were in favor, motion passed.

John covered the objectives of the Booster Club and his motto for the Booster Club of “ALL IN” outlining the areas the Booster Club will support the program and the players.

John shared some important dates including November 3rd as Meet the Player night, November 11th as Veterans’ Night as also the season opener home games, February 7th as Senior Night. He also informed membership that there is a Sunday Tournament, September 11th to kick off basketball for 2016-2017.

John made introductions of the Executive Board as well as the Committee Chairs:

  • Shawn Boyd covered her plans and goals for Community Outreach including Santa Cops, Red out for the Heart Association, vertical alignment with the feeder schools, and scholarships.
  • Jennifer Evans gave the date and location of the Banquet of Friday, March 24 at 6:00 pm. She also gave order forms for the Player Fan shirts stating the due date is September 30th. John and Craig stated they will go to the school tomorrow to hand out forms in each class.
  • Mike Richter covered the membership dues and benefits to joining including shooter shirts, player banquet ticket, photographer pictures, and a game day program.
  • Rosemary Rizk covered concessions sign up and volunteer requests of 3 slots per family.
  • Karen Hanley covered game day and made a request for volunteers
  • Joe reported that the website is the best source of the latest information
  • John Miller gave a brief explanation of FMSN and made a call for any students or parents that are interested in broadcasting or running the camera
  • Karen Martin explained the Team Rep communications and made a call for a JV team parent. She also stated that she is still working on the game day meals for Freshman and JV teams
  • Angie Cox covered spirit wear sale prices for tonight and the items that will on the Lewisville Lettering online store.
  • Craig reviewed Sponsorships, Balling Crew, Schedules, and Spirit Ads/Programs. Craig made a call for help getting sponsors for the basketball program. He asked each person to give a sponsor handout to one business in the area. He made a call for volunteers to help with sponsorships, balling crew and programs.

John made a break for families to visit the membership table and spirit wear table.

Coach Littleton addressed the families and gave his contact information to follow him on Facebook at Eric Littleton and follow him on Twitter @CoachLittleton for the Thought of the Day. He told a story from his past that led into his concept of “Culture eats strategy for Breakfast”.

John closed the meeting thanking everyone for coming and gave a reminder for the next meeting on October 6, 2016 in the multipurpose room. He also stated there are plans for some kind of tailgating in the parking lot of the ASC (formally the IAD) for this Sunday’s tournament kick off games.

No new business was discussed. Meeting was adjourned at 7: 35 pm.
