FLORIDA COUNCIL ON ECONOMIC EDUCATION

(TAMPA) – The Florida Council on Economic Education announces the launching of its new website, new program partnership and hiring of three key staff members.

Crystal Fraser was hired as the Director of Finance. Crystal’s primary focus will be the expansion of funding for youth activity programs that promote self-responsibility and giving back to the community. Crystal brings 15+ years of experience in accounting and grant funding in the non-profit arena with agencies such as Bay Area Youth Services, Tampa Meals on Wheels and both the Hillsborough and Chicago Transit Authorities.

Chalette Davis, Event Coordinator, brings a diverse experience of government, social and medical event planning and program management in both corporate and non-profit environments. Chalette is a Florida native and received her Liberal Arts degree and Air Force officer commission from the University of Florida. She returned to Florida after service as a logistics officer in the military and non-profit work in Washington, D.C. Since returning to Florida, Chalette has managed No Child Left Behind’s Supplemental Educational Services (SES) and she managed the delivery of free tutoring services to over 1000 students nation-wide.

Monica Pettiette, the FCEE’s new Marketing Coordinator, will be responsible for promoting the FCEE’s annual events as well as marketing existing and future programs. Miss Pettiette has been a marketing communications and public relations professional in the Tampa Bay area for over 12 years. She has extensive experience in the non-profit sector serving as Public Relations Manager for Goodwill Industries-Suncoast, Inc., as well as experience in corporate and advertising agency environments.

“The Florida Council is excited to bring on board three talented individuals who have a passion for public service and enthusiasm for community outreach. Our new website, partnership and staff are an aggressive continuation of the forward momentum of the Council,” says Clinton Mueller, Interim Executive Director.

The mission of the Florida Council on Economic Education is to prepare Florida’s young people for personal and financial success through educational programs in economics, the free enterprise system and personal financial literacy so that they become productive members of the workforce, responsible consumers and wise investors. The Florida Council on Economic Education is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is funded by leading corporations and individuals throughout the state, as well as a grant from the Florida Department of Education.
