CLASSIFIED OBITUARY
BANISTER, Mr. Roosevelt - Age 56, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2000 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Tuesday, March 7, 2000 from the Chapel of the Swanson Funeral Home, 2210 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Ave., Elder John Thorton officiating. Interment in Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd., Friends and Pallbearers will assemble at the Chapel of the Swanson Funeral Home, 10:30AM Tuesday at which time the family will receive friends. Mr. Roosevelt Banister was born April 17, 1943 in Vance, MS, the son of Mr. and Mrs. A.B. Banister and had been a resident of Flint since 1948. He attended Flint Public Schools graduating from Central High School, and was employed with Speeds Electrical Company and formerly employed with Chevy Metal Fab, a division of General Motors Corporation and a member of Local #659. He leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Natasha; 2 granddaughters, Bridgette, Chantel, all of Durham, NC; 2 sisters, Grace (Jerome) Burnett and Dorothy (Frank) Jones, all of Flint; 1 brother, A.B. Banister, Jr. of Las Vegas, Nevada; uncle, Willie Washington of Flint, ex-wife, Barbara Jean Crawford; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Mr. Banister was preceded in death by his daughter, Bridgette; parents; and 1 brother, R.C. Banister.
