FIZZ Differentiation

Collaborate. Create. Publish.

Teacher directions:

  1. Put the students into groups of 2 or 3.
  2. Hand out the paperslide video / video lecture group assignments. **
  3. Go over the directions and determine timeframe for phases of work. ***
  4. Show the students an example of a paperslide video / video lecture.
  5. Have cameras that students can check out once they are ready to film.
  6. Watch the student videos and discuss the assessment questions at the end of each – or assign the videos and questions for homework.

** Differentiate (either assign topics or allow students to create their own)

  • Group 1: Basics - these students create a paperslide video from information that can be found in the textbook/lectures
  • Group 2: Extension - these students create a paperside video using some information from the text, but are also required to do research using additional resources
  • Group 3:Advanced - these students create a paperslide video on a high level topic where they will need to do more extensive research and use a variety of resources – one of the advanced groups (#15) can request or be assigned to create a video lecture instead of a paperslide video
