LIQUI MOLY expanding product range with new gear oils
Ulm. Lubricant specialist LIQUI MOLY is presenting five new gear oils in one go, adding key high-tech items for cars and commercial vehicles to its product range. These ATF oils offer all the advantages of modern synthetic-based gear lubricants. For the highly successful Top Tec product line, this means a three-fold increase in size. LIQUI MOLY is also launching a steering gear oil and an oil for commercial vehicles.
Like engines, modern gearboxes are becoming ever more complex. To keep up with developments, the lubricant specialist has created new formulations based on synthesis technology: New ATF oils are offered to match the engine oils, tailored specifically to automatic gearboxes. ATF 1100, ATF 1200 and ATF 1300 meet additional specifications from European, American and Asian vehicle manufacturers. A wider area of use enables garages to make potential savings in storage, creation of capital and application – Top Tec ATF 1100 combines the products ATF III, Dexron II D and TASA, for instance. Top Tec ATF 1200is designed for use in many Asian vehicles withlonger oil change intervalsand meets the key VW specification G052 162 and MB 236.6. It can also be used as a more cost-effective alternative to ATF II E. Top Tec ATF 1300 was specifically designed for engines requiring the Ford norm ESW-M2C-33F or ESW-M2C 33G.
Products for commercial vehicles and steering gears
LIQUI MOLY is launching a special gear oil for commercial vehicles along with the Top Tec ATF gear oils. This has been designed for longer oil change intervalsin commercial vehicle axle gears without limited slip differential. The oil from Ulm also meets MB specification 235.20 and is mainly required for the ATEGO and AXOR series. The LIQUI MOLY hypoid gear oil Truck LD 80W-90 alsomeets MB specifications 235.0 and 235.6.
The fifth new product is the steering gear oil 3100. It was developed specifically according to Daimler’s high demands and can be used in both manual and power steering systems of many Mercedes Benz vehicles.
The four LIQUI MOLY products ATF III, ATF TASA, ATF DEXRON II D and ATF II E will be replaced by the new range of Top Tec gear oils in the medium term. The new gear oils can already be found in the latest version of the LIQUI MOLY oil guide.
Boost for sales and brand
With this step, the automotive professionals from Ulm want to achieve a successful autumn and boost both their own business and the market. “The existing product range only covered part of the vehicle population. With the new products, we’re taking a definite step forward in development, which means an additional boost for the already attractive brand and our sales,” says LIQUI MOLY’s head of marketing Peter Baumann.

Top Tec ATF 1100
This is a hydraulic fluid based on synthetic HC base oils in combination with modern and high-performance additive components for universal use. Top Tec ATF 1100 is suitable for use in steering gears, manual and automatic transmissions, hydraulic systems and auxiliary drives. Guarantees perfect operation of hydraulic transmissions even under extreme operating conditions and when exposed to large temperature fluctuations.

Top Tec ATF 1200
This is an automatic gear oil from the latest generation based on synthetic HC base oils in combination with the latest high-performance additives. The outstanding composition of various base oil and additive components ensures optimum stability to aging, excellent protection against wear and good friction characteristics. Top Tec ATF 1200 conforms to the requirements of numerous unit and vehicle manufacturers and guarantees perfect operation of the units even under extreme operating conditions and when exposed to large temperature fluctuations.Also suitable for extended oil change intervals.

Top Tec ATF 1300
This is a hydraulic fluid that is largely used in units from older generations. Despite the diverse possibilities for use in automatic and manual transmissions, as well as for power steering systems and ancillaries, safe operation and perfect functioning of the units is guaranteed. Certain base oils and additive components ensure good wear protection characteristics and optimum corrosion protection.

Hypoid gear oil Truck LD SAE 80W-90
This is an extreme pressure gear oil that has been specially designed for use with prolonged oil change intervals in commercial vehicle axle transmissions and construction machinery without a locking differential. Thanks to their outstanding EP properties and low coefficient of friction, certain base oils and special additives are compatible with low-wear operation. Hypoid gear oil Truck LD SAE 80W-90 meets the high requirements made of modern commercial vehicles and construction machinery.

Steering gear oil 3100
Hydraulic fluid that has been specially designed according to the high requirements of Daimler. Steering gear oil 3100 can be used both in mechanical steering systems and in the power steering systems of a number of Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Certain base oils and modern additive components ensure optimum viscosity and friction, extremely good protection against wear, high thermal stability and stability to aging and excellent corrosion protection. Steering gear oil 3100 also has outstanding low temperature characteristics.
