First Time Visitor’s Call Script (3-5 mins/call)
This follow-up script is used to formally thank each First Time Visitor within 48 hours of visiting and to invite them to the FTVBS. Before calling, ask God to guide your discussion. Project warmth and enthusiasm about their visit. Have a pen and follow-up card handy. The best times to call are between the hours of 6 pm-8 pm.
Remember why? God’s heart is driven by redemptive love. (Jn 3:16; Rom. 5: 6-8)
"Hi may I speak to ______? My name is ______with the Sugar Creek Church of Christ. How are you doing? (Wait for response) I want to personally thank you for worshipping with us on ______. Is this a good time to ask about your experience? (Wait for response) If not, what’s a good time to reach you?
1. What brought you to Sugar Creek last Sunday? ______
2. How was your worship experience? (Wait for response) ______
3. (If needed to build rapport or gain insight)While looking at your visitor’s card, I noticed…...[1]
4. At the Sugar Creek Church of Christ we believe in promoting sound Christian education. We are always happy to provide more information about the church and opportunities for spiritual growth. Insert Visitor’s name, we host the First Time Visitor’s Bible Study for all guests and we would be excited/thrilled if you were present. Do you enjoy learning and studying the bible?
· If no, ask politely ask why? This is an opportunity!
· If yes, use words of affirmation: “Great so do I” “That’s good”
· The FTVBS is on Tuesdays, Wednesdays at 5:30 pm & Thursdays at 10 am or 6:00pm. Which date and time would be best for you?
· If the First Time Visitor is not able to attend, politely ask why? i.e. Family, Work, School etc.
o If not, then Sundays are also available, what time is best for you? (They may have visited on a Sunday)
· If they are not interested, you simply thank them for visiting and complete the call-flow. (Skip #5)
5. If asked about the bible study topic?
o Each lesson is specific to making our “Calling and Election Sure” (1 Pet 1:10).
o One of our Ministers will facilitate the study.
· You are welcomed to bringing a guest; will anyone be attending with you?
6. Insert Visitor’s name, if you have a minute is there anything you would like for us to pray about? If not, continue. If yes, ask for a specific request.
o Offer a prayer of thanks for God leading them to Sugar Creek.
o Would this be a good time to say a prayer over the phone?
o If not, is there a request I can include in my prayer?
7. It’s been my pleasure speaking with you and we look forward to meeting you on ______at ______pm. Thanks again for worshipping with us at the Sugar Creek Church of Christ!
