Organization Aid Appropriations for the National Student Speech Language and Hearing Association, Invisible Children: WesternKentuckyUniversity Chapter, WesternKentuckyUniversity Schleuderball Club, Student Affairs Graduate Association, Student Identity Outreach, International Association of Business Communicators, International Club, Students’ Paranormal Organization of Kentucky, and WesternKentuckyUniversity Dodgeball Club

PURPOSE:For the Student Government Association of Western Kentucky University to allocate $4,100.00 from the Organization Aid fund to the National Student Speech Language and Hearing Association, Invisible Children: Western Kentucky University Chapter, Western Kentucky University Schleuderball Club, Student Affairs Graduate Association, Student Identity Outreach, International Association of Business Communicators, International Club, Students’ Paranormal Organization of Kentucky, and Western Kentucky University Dodgeball Club

WHEREAS:Organizational Aid is a beneficial service to the Student Organizations of Western Kentucky University, and

WHEREAS:The allocated funds will support specific student events on WesternKentuckyUniversity’s main and regional campuses, and

WHEREAS:The National Student Speech Language and Hearing Association has been recommended an allocation of $500.00 for succor in procuring lodging and for expenses incurred while traveling to the American Speech Language and Hearing Association Convention located in New Orleans Louisiana from November 19-21, 2009, and

WHEREAS:The Invisible Children: WKU Chapter, a student organization affiliated with Invisible Children Incorporated, has been recommended an allocation of $400.00 for succor in purchasing materials for various fund raising activities for the Schools for Schools campaign, an international effort to rebuild schools destroyed during more than twenty years of Ugandan civil war , and

WHEREAS:The Western Kentucky University Schleuderball Club has been recommended an allocation of $300.00 for succor in purchasing t-shirts that will be used during game play and as a fund raiser for a meeting, occurring in the spring, between the five universities (WKU, University of Kansas, Kansas State University, University of Tennessee, and Kettering University) in the United States that have Schleuderball clubs, and

WHEREAS:The Student Affairs Graduate Association has been recommended allocation of $500.00 for succor in participating in various professional development events and conferences throughout the calendar year, and

WHEREAS:The Student Identity Outreach organization has been recommended an allocation of $400.00 for succor in procuring lodging and travel expenses while attending the National Equality March that is set to occur October, and

WHEREAS:The International Association of Business Communicators has been recommended an allocation of $500.00 for succor traveling to the International Association of Business Communicators Heritage Conference in Cleveland, Ohio from October 17-20, and

WHEREAS:The International Club has been recommended an allocation of $500.00 for succor in providing diverse educational programming with a focus on the cultures of East Africa throughout the academic year, and

WHEREAS:The Students’ Paranormal Organization of Kentucky has been recommended an allocation of $500.00 for succor in purchasing equipment to gather evidence and effectively communicate with paranormal entities and in promoting their Spooktacular event, a charity event that is scheduled for October 30, 2009, and

WHEREAS:The Western Kentucky University Dodgeball Club has been recommended an allocation of $500.00 for succor in attending the Kentucky Classic tournament in Lexington, Kentucky which takes place on November 2, 2009 and the NCDA National tournament which takes place in Chicago, Illinois in April and in hosting a charity dodgeball game that will benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital that will occur during the Spring semester.

THEREFORE:Be it resolved that the Student Government Association of Western Kentucky University allocate the needed funds of $4,100.00 to WesternKentuckyUniversity student organizations.
