Grade 6 Religion

First Quarter Mysteries of the Rosary Project

Students,

You are being given your first Religion project of the year. It is due slightly over two weeks from now, on Friday, October 20th. You are responsible for creating a large poster which labels and illustrates one of the sets of the Mysteries of the Rosary: Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious, and Luminous. Each student will be assigned one of the sets of Mysteries to do.

Students may draw pictures for each of their five mysteries or may cut out and paste pictures found in magazines, online, etc. All illustrations must be in color, not black and white. All illustrations should be given 1) headings indicating the Mysteries that are being depicted and 2) at least two points providing details about each mystery.

For example, see the first joyful mystery depicted below:

The Joyful Mysteries
The Annunciation
/ The Visitation / The Nativity / Presentation in the Temple / Finding in the Temple
·  The angel Gabriel came to Mary
·  Mary was told she would conceive and bear Jesus

Students will be graded on the basis of 1) being informative, 2) creativity, and 3) neatness. It is absolutely essential that these projects be completed on time and that students spend a decent amount of time on them. This is worth 25% of your quarterly grade.

The Mysteries are assigned as follows:

William Alvarenga
Edgar Campos
Isaac Ham
Sadie Mattaliano
