There will be a book study this fall on the following book:

Smart Money Smart Kids: Raising the Next Generation to Win with Money

by Dave Ramsey and Rachel Cruze

The study is for parents and children to participate in together. The meeting times will be the second and third Sunday evenings of the month starting Sunday, September 14th from 5:00 - 6:00 PM at the church. Each family will need to purchase at least one copy of the book prior to the first class. The books are available from amazon.com and most other book sellers and stores. It's time to welcome college students to our community at our annual Welcome Back BBQ on Saturday, September 6 at 5:30! We hope you will join us in our mission to make FBC an inviting, welcoming church "home away from home" for college students to worship, learn, grow closer to God, or even come to know God!

You can help out by providing a dish or two for this kick-off event. Just send an email to Tracy Royer at , or track down the Royers or Campbells (Shawn & Jenny) at church and let us know what you would like to bring. Food will need to be at the church by 4:00-4:30 on Sept. 6.

PRAISE NOTES

Praise Notes Choir will begin Sunday Sept 7th from 4-5pm on 3rd floor. All children grades k-6 are invited. Parents are asked to stay for the first few minutes of this rehearsal for information.

ADULT CHOIR

Choir begins back September 7 at 4:00. We will begin singing music for the Advent Christmas Season. Join us this first week as we outline the schedule and sing through the music we will use to lead the Body of Christ at First Baptist to anticipate the coming of Jesus in the manger, as well as, anticipating His second coming. Everyone, from 7th Grade to 120, is invited to join us for this wonderful time of worship through music. For more information, contact Pastor Brad.

Dear Church Family,

Thank you so much for all the kind expressions of sympathy received when Gloria went home to be with Jesus.

Many Thanks to the ladies for providing such a lovely meal for our family. We appreciated the music Murray provided and Pastor Gary’s message.

The gifts given to the building fund in Gloria’s memory were deeply appreciated. It is very fitting that the building project now is the nursery, since she loved babies.

Please accept my apology for being so late in acknowledging all of your kind acts. Breaking my hip slowed me down, but I’m now getting back to normal. Thanks to those who sent not only sympathy cards but also get well cards. Your thoughtfulness brightened my time in rehab.

I’m so blessed to be part of such a loving church family. God bless all.
