EMT REIMBURSEMENT AGREEMENT

THIS AGREEMENT is made by and between ______, hereinafter referred to as “Recruit” and Vashon Island Fire & Rescue, hereinafter referred to as “District,” for the purpose of setting forth the parties’ agreement regarding the District’s willingness to include Student in the District’s “EMT Academy” with the understanding that there are certain terms and conditions of such approval.

  2. Commitment. By signing this agreement, the Recruit makes a commitment to remain with the District as a volunteer EMT for a term of 18 months after completion of the Academy and commencing membership in the District’s Volunteer EMT Program. During that entire term, the Student agrees to serve a minimum of three (3) twelve (12) hour shifts per month.
  3. Value. The value of this Academy, which would qualify Student to so serve, is hereby agreed by these parties to be $750.00.
  4. Reimbursement. If recruit does not satisfy the condition set forth in paragraph 2 above, due to finding employment elsewhere, termination of membership, or for other unexcused reasons (within the sole discretion of the Fire Chief of the District) for the entire term, then recruit shall reimburse the agreed value to the District. Such reimbursement may be pro-rated and shall be paid back to the District, until fully paid, at the rate of $42.00 per month.
  5. No promise of employment. It is understood and agreed, that by accepting the recruit for theAcademy and by signing this agreement, District is not promising employment of any kind to the Student or making any representations in that regard.
  6. Return of Gear. All gear and/or books issued to the Student shall be returned to the District upon separation; the Student shall be monetarily responsible for all gear and/or books that are not returned within 30 days.
