AAS NSW Travel Award for Research Students to attend ACOUSTICS 2016, Brisbane QLD

The New South Wales Division of the Australian Acoustical Society (AAS) is offering up to two (2) awards for research students to Acoustics 2016 at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, 9-11 November, 2016. Successful awardees will be required to provide a short report (up to 300 words) on their experiences at the Conference for the December 2016 issue of the Acoustics Australia journal.

The amount of each award is up to $750 and is to be spent towards the conference registration fee, travel to and from the conference venue, and accommodation.

The award is open to all research students who are AAS student members of the NSW Division as well as research students endorsed by AAS membersof the NSW Division.

To apply for the award complete the following:

  1. Complete the application form on the following page.
  2. Provide an abstract (up to 200 words) of your proposed subject area.
  3. Describe how your proposed paper will satisfy the following selection criteria (up to 200 words per criterion):

(i)relevance of your project to the field of acoustics and vibrations;

(ii)significance and innovation of your project, and

(iii)identifiable national benefits (for example, social, economic and/or environmental contributions) that may arise from your project.

Note: Assessment of the travel award is primarily based on the ability of your application to address these selection criteria.

  1. Provide a one page CV including qualifications, current research program and list of any publications to date. Include a copy of your student card in your one page CV.
