(Home of Stanford University Baseball)

Stanford Baseball is pleased to announce that we are opening up our facility to our very first Wednesday Night Backstop Academy! This camp will be directed by Stanford Baseball Coach,Jack Marder. In addition, many of our current members of the Stanford Baseball team will be helping with our instruction.

These clinics are open to any and all players, only limited by age (10-18 years old) and total number of players welcome.

Registration for our Camps:stanfordbaseballcamp.com – you must sign up through our website to be officially registered for camp!!

Here are the logistics to our Backstop Academy:

  • A camp session runs four Wednesdays (weeks)
  • Session 1 will start on Wednesday, October 4, 11, 18, 25 (Note the later sessions that will take place throughout the year)
  • Cost is $200 for the four weeks
  • The techniques being taught will be the catching philosophy of what we teach our Stanford Baseball Players
  • Each session will be about two hours in length
  • LOCATION: All sessions will be conducted at our one MILLION dollar 16,000 square foot batting cage area at Stanford University Sunken Diamond. That facility is covered, has artificial turf, and is lit so not matter what kind of weather conditions exist we can still have camp. We may have a station set up in Left Field as well.
  • EQUIPMENT NEEDED: Full Set of Catching Equipment, Proper Athletic Attire (we will wear ATHLETIC SHOES inside the hitting facility and CLEATS on the field – please bring both!)
  • Your teammates as well as baseball buddies are welcome to attend with you if they desire. However, please realize that NCAA rules state we must take registrations on a first come, first serve basis.
  • You sign up by registering at stanfordbaseballcamp.com. If you have questions, contact Jack Marder at or 650-725-2054. You are not into camp until you’ve received an email confirming your attendance.
  • Payment will be collected on the first night of camp, Wednesday, October 4. Make checks payable to Stanford Baseball Camp.
  • We should see remarkable improvement from our campers because of the fact we get to work with someone over an extended period of time.
  • The Backstop Academy is great way to teach our young and advanced players the correct fundamentals of the catching positon, while advancing their individual skills to put them on the right track to reaching their fullest potential as catcher!
  • Every Backstop Academyclinic will run from 6:00 - 8:00 PM and will include throwing and proper arm care instruction, blocking and receiving instruction, mechanical analysis and breakdown, leadership skill development, and proper overall catching development from Stanford University Baseball Catching Coach, Jack Marder.
