Lady Wings/Rec I player eligibility discussion - League requirements for new players (player eligibility form) and for teams (team credential forms). Ann proposed that the Lady Wings have three players in question. When the league received the forms there were questions about their participation in Rec I. All three had significant youth experience and some had college experience.

Plan from the Board was to review the paperwork provided by the players and that Board members would view the actual play. At the same time, the Board wanted to reassure Rec I teams that the Board wasn’t condoning such advanced players in that particular division.

Player experience/level is one concern. How we remedy the situation is an additional concern.

From the team’s perspective - Scoring is all over the board, these girls have been helping the team and not always the “scoring machines” that may be implied or assumed just by their youth history. There was nothing done with any intention of mis-informing or deception – all agreed.

Biggest concern of the board is where to put that one AAA-experienced player? There are teams in the existing Intermediate II division that were specifically asked to move to other divisions based on this level of experience. The AAA player may not be “the best” of the team, but her credentials, unfortunately, are the same credentials that other teams have been strongly discouraged from having in the Int. II division.

Need to have a decision so we can put the team in the right place for the 2nd half of the season. Also will decide the issue of which games count and which don’t once we know where they’ll be in the league. If they have the scrimmages against the Intermediate II division, they’ll let the Board know.

Metro Blades/Intermediate II player eligibility - no one from that team is present to discuss the issue. As we understand it the player may be willing to move to a higher division. We’ve not heard from the Manager or the Manager/Player combination. Carrie will try to reach player and manager to be sure this isn’t just heresay.

Scoresheets/Statistics: A reminder for winning teams on how to get scoresheets into the right person. Sue to send email (and pdf of the off-ice manual section on scorekeeping) to remind everyone how to fill out scoresheets – player numbers, scoring/penalties, etc. Reminder to get stuff to statisticians on a timely basis so we can get accurate stats up, at least once a month, on the website. Remember to put the game number on your scoresheet.

Other issues?

Little Caesar’s request to get a waiver in for injury in case the player can make Nationals.

Motion to adjourn, Melanie. Second by Sarah.
