·  Council chair proposed to have minutes due December 28th. Council agreed

4.  Treasurer nomination: Jennifer Armstrong-Lehman

·  Council voted in favour of Jennifer Armstrong-Lehman for Treasurer

·  Jennifer provided budget update and allocation description. She has been working to remove old categories and update.

·  Three main categories of fundraising: general school needs, classroom needs, athletics

5.  Updates from November 7th meeting:

·  How did pick up for Hewitt’s go? (Thanks Geri for standing outside!)

o  All orders were picked up the night of

o  Geri began to phone people to remind them of pick up

o  Feedback: Jennifer Armstrong-Lehman received cheese tea biscuits when she ordered plain (as other flavours were not an option). If we do this again, we need to have a discussion with Hewitts re: order form.

·  How did Wendy’s go?

o  Sale for the three hours was $4607.00, so Hillcrest will receive a cheque for $550.00

o  Council would like to select a Spring date

·  Volunteer recap (Geri)

o  Two are needed for the office: laminating and pizza coordinator

o  Council corner in January 2016 should include Volunteer information and email address

·  Take home books being ordered/May go to online books for FI

6.  Upcoming fundraisers and future plans

·  Holiday on the Hill

o  Thursday, December 15th

o  Cindy provided update and needs (e.g., tables, volunteers)

o  Council discussed no “pre purchases” of material coming in. In the past, volunteers have pre-selected items and they’ve been removed from the sale before it occurs.

·  Movie night (we do have a license for some movies)

o  Will discuss possible dates at next council meeting

·  Other non-food options (Snow Valley)

o  Snow Valley…yes! Virginia will email to arrange

7.  Student drop off/pick up congestion issue (Geri)

·  Toronto Street is still very congested at drop off and pick up times. Parents are trying to gain entrance into the parking lot and becoming very upset with duty staff member.

·  Kadri provided background (i.e., by-law is called and people are ticketed…problem gets better for a bit, but then when by-law isn’t there, people continue to park/stop again)

·  Kadri suggested that council can purchase a chair to put across parking lot entrance. Council feels this won’t solve the problem.

·  Geri will email Dale Rowe at the YMCA to confirm that short-term parking is still an option (like last year)
