The purpose of this project is to allow you to demonstrate how well you know the five major types of figurative language addressed in the 6th grade standards. You not only will define figurative language, literal language, and each of the five types of figurative language, you will create an illustration for each. You also will provide a literal explanation of each example of figurative language.

Directions: Use a 9 x 12 sheet of construction paper provided to form your pamphlet according to the instructions. Begin by making a rough draft of your pamphlet with a standard piece of white copy paper.
