English: We are continuing sentences and structure. Students should be reviewing the types of sentences, subject and predicate. Right now I have the test penciled in Sept. 18th.

Social Studies: We have started Chapter 8: The Road to the Revolution. Students should be keeping worksheets in their yellow folder to review later. We have an ongoing assignment to do and turn in 10 cause and effect cards at the time of the assessment. Each card is worth 5 points and there are specific things I need on each card: Cause, Effect, complete sentences, and initials.

Math: We are learning about unit fractions, equivalent fractions and adding and subtracting fractions with like and unlike denominators. Students are required to spend some time each day on Moby Max. The fractions lessons are set up so students will be learning them next. Fact Fluency should be done daily for 5 minutes a day. This can be done at home 

Science: We are finishing up our unit on Matter. The test will be Friday, Sept 8th. The science text is a workbook that students can use to study. Start now!

Spelling: Lesson 3

100% on Pretest~ students get free time on Friday (or FTF)!!!

Reading: We began our novel, Mr. Ape, this week. One of our first skills was prediction. We will start Chapter 1 on Monday!

All students must turn in all homework on time to receive full credit. Only homework returned the day it was due (-10%) or the next morning (-20%) will be accepted. All homework after that point will receive a zero.

Reminders:

All students will use their assignment book daily and they need their assignment books signed each night by a parent, guardian or caretaker. If it is not signed, students will lose dojo points. Students should also be filling out each class with exact what we write on our board. Next week we will start having our enrichment class on Thursdays. In order to participate, students have to have 80% or greater of their possible Dojo points.
