6. Matters Arising

6.1 / The Tigers club constitution was received and read by all members and accepted.
The rules, policies and procedures as described by the British Taekwondo Council (BTC) have been read by all Committee members and unanimously accepted as part of the constitution of the Daventry Tigers.
6.2 / MR said that he will continue to fund the Summer Bbq and Christmas party and items such as dodge balls from the member subs, this will be kept under review and if subs no longer cover this then will bring this to the committee.
6.3 / MR suggested that 50% of the fees for tournament be paid for by parents. The committee agreed with this as it meant that funds were equally used for all tigers and not just those few who attended tournaments.
6.4 / MR said that getting the club mark accreditation will open up more funding avenues and will help to fund things like equipment.
MR suggested that we speak to other parents and WOT speak to other junior instructor to see if there is anything they would like to see in the club. / All
6.5 / A general discussion about affordability arose and whether people don’t join in with sports like these as they think it’s expensive. SR suggested it may be more down to people not being able to get there as have no transport. There is a family membership available when students are in Jackson White’s class if parents also have a Tiger student. This will cut down costs. CW suggested that some parents could help with transport if they know people who are interested but unable to get to the leisure centre.
6.6 / MR said that there is a current membership limit of 32 students per session. Under the safeguarding guidelines the maximum instructor to student ratio is 1-16.
WOT asked if junior instructors can be used for ratio limits, the answer from MR was no, as they are not nationally qualified as instructors. MR will need to clarify if junior instructors are counted within the class limit of 32 as students. If they are, then another fully qualified instructor will need to be recruited. MR said he would like to expand the group to 120 students, currently have 92. There are a few spaces left for current limits.
SR suggested that those student who come to both the junior and senior classes on Wednesdays and Fridays could just attend the senior class to free up spaces for new members.
MR is going to draw up a club development plan and this will be distributed when complete. / MR

6.7 / MR said that there are quite a lot of tickets left for the Ambush. It was suggested that we could go around in class and ask parents if they want to purchase one. / All

7. AOB

7.1 / MR asked if someone would like to go on an Equity course. One person is required to be qualified in this for Clubmark accreditation. There is a course run by sports UK, but the courses being held in next month or so are about 2 hours journey. The next local course if not until June. As the courses are week days it was difficult for anyone at this time to commit but could do later more local course in June. It was asked if there are any other companies that offer this course more local and sooner. MR will look into this. / MR
7.2 / It was asked if MR could give talk in school to get people interested in joining. MR said that he was happy to do this for an assembly and would give a talk, show a promotional DVD and would ask any of his students in who are in that assembly if they would get up an give a demonstration. / All
