March 01, 2012 Idaho Power Scholarship. Requires students to have a 3.75 GPA. The scholarships are conditioned upon the recipient’s enrollment at an accredited Idaho or Oregon college university or vocational-technical school. Feb. 15, 2012Thomas J. Jayo Scholarship. A local scholarship for Nyssa students only. Applications are available in the counseling office. Applications must be turned in to Ms. Martell in the counseling office by Wednesday February 15. Requires a 3.0 GPA and three letters of recommendation.

February 24, 2012COSA (Confederation of Oregon School Administrators). Student selection criteria include:

  • Must identify an Oregon school he/she plans to attend
  • Active in community and school activities
  • Have a 3.5 GPA or higher
  • Submit autobiography with goals
  • Secure the endorsement and signature of a COSA member
  • Provide a copy of their current transcript. APPLICATIONS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE COUNSELING OFFICE.

March 5, 2012Laurance Family Foundation Scholarship Program. A $12,000 scholarship for Nyssa students only (renewable.) Applications are available in the counseling office and must be turned in to Ms. Martell in the counseling office by Monday, March 5.

April 12, 2012Nyssa-Nampa Beet Growers Association. Two $500.00 scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors who plan to attend college this fall. The scholarships will be awarded to dependants (children/grandchildren) of Snake River Sugar Company LLC Cooperative members-growers who deliver sugar beets to the Nampa factory. March 15, 2012TVCC Foundation Scholarship Application. If you are planning to attend TVCC in the fall you should consider applying for their foundation scholarships. Applications are available in the counseling office or online. Go to the TVCC web site and click on “Foundation Scholarships”. On the left side of the new screen, click on “Foundation Scholarships” again….this will take you to the application. Applications must be POSTMARKED NO LATER THAN MARCH 15THor the application WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

April 4, 2012Friend of Education Scholarship. A local scholarship. Requires a 250-500 word essay telling about yourself, who you are, why you want to become an educator; an activities list; transcript; college transcript (if applicable) and two letters of recommendation.

April 11, 2012NEA (Nyssa Education Association Scholarship). A local scholarship that requires an activities list, list of awards received in high school, community service performed in high school, work experience and a 300-500 word essay on your education goals. This vast landscape understand and appreciate the landscape and the resources. Decisions

Regarding the health and management our natural resources are more critical than ever.

Attending the High Desert Youth Range Camp students will learn about these resources in a fun

and exciting setting! Students can earn college credit and discover the educational options

awaiting them after high school to pursue an education and career in rangeland or natural

resource field.

Students grades 9-12 may apply

Cost is $175 per camper and is inclusive of all meals, transportation and materials at

Camp.

The HDYRC is held in the Northern Great Basin Experimental Range about 35 miles west of Burns, Oregon.
