Fast Freight Rolling – 20 minute color film from 1952.
Commissioned by the Western Maryland Railway on
the occasion of their 100th Anniversary. Many scenes
depict steam and Diesel locomotives and trains in action
throughout their system. It also shows coal operations at
Port Covington, their tidewater terminal, which has been
completely destroyed. Expertly transferred to DVD from
an original 16mm print. The WMRY engineer that appears
on the lower right of the cover and on the DVD disc is Paul
R. Arnold, my friend for over 40 years. Both photos were
taken at Port Covington in the 1960s by me. The photo of
1404 on the cover is by A. Aubrey Bodine, and was taken
from a WM annual report. Dwight Heinmuller –
