FAQ’s – Intentional Formation Initiative (IFI)

Who are the Fellows?Post Graduate men & women who want to rediscover their PRIMARY vocation is the call to follow Jesus and to realize this call embraces every aspect of their lives. If you are a college senior who sincerely desires to explore an all-encompassing faith, to nurture a heart for the church (as the Bride of Christ), and who desires to live with Kingdom principles while impacting your world, we encourage you to learn more about IFI.

Where will they live?In a strategically-located house where the fellows will share the joys and challenges of committed relationships as they eat together, talk together and pray together. We will help the Fellows establish an environment of sincerity, trust and openness.

Where will they work?Understanding that work is much more than a job, the Fellows explore an area they have interest in (as closely as possible) while exhibiting Biblical standards in decision-making, responding to ethical challenges, demonstrating servant leadership, learning good stewardship of time and skills, and working excellently in the workplace.

What does “Imbedded

in a local church mean”?Mission Indy believes the local church is God’s primary means of revealing His wisdom and His ways to the world around us.

To be committed to Jesus and His Kingdom, means we are committed to His Bride – the church. Fellows will be assigned to and incorporated into one of a handful of local church partners that will involve them in the life of that church during their time in Indianapolis. They will share life with the church people - which includes worship, service and discussion.

What does a week

look like?Monday – Thursday (app. 32 hours) at the vocational assignment based on Fellow’s passions, learning and contributing.

Fridays are reserved for training and discipleship of a wide variety. There will also be time built in for reading and prayer.

What does it cost /pay?The work experience pays enough for your rent, utilities, daily essentials, transportation in Indy and food. The program costs for training, supplies, field trips etc. is $4,000. Mission Indy will work closely with each Fellow to help this be accomplished. Some support-raising can happen before arrival, and part of the Friday training time will be used for equipping and encouraging this process. Additionally, some of the funds may be able to be saved from the work experience. Don’t let this part be a stumbling block for you. Talk to us and you will see we can work it out together.
