Inroduction to Culinary Arts

Supplies:

Pocket folder, paper, pencil, pen, and ruler.

Project supplies when applicable

Teacher Expectations for Students:

1.  Come to class on time. If late 3 times detention after school for 1 hour with teacher.

2.  No use of cell phones, head phones, or any other unauthorized equipment.

3.  Follow directions when you enter the room for “Do Now “on the board.

4.  Be kind, courteous, and respectful of other people and the facilities.

5.  Be responsible with work and equipment.

6.  Work safely and follow safety procedures at all times.

7.  When leaving room ask permission, take the pass, sign-out and sign-in at all times.

8.  Utilize your time wisely

9.  It is your responsibility to find out and make up work after an absence.

10. Tidy area and put everything were it belongs before leaving the classroom.

Grading:

1. 35% of total final grade will be from Daily Grade which becomes Lab Grade on lab days. Grade will be based on the following criteria:

Safety, hygiene, class participation, following procedure, utilizing time wisely, returning equipment appropriately, organization, staying on task, prepared for class, punctuality, respectful and courteous behavior.

Any disruptive or unsafe behavior that affects learning for the class will result in a zero grade, detention, being written up, and, or sent to the office to see administration.

Inappropriate behavior (cheating, talking, disruptive noise) during tests or exams times

will result in:

a. Removal of test paper and taken after school that day. Zero grade if a no show.

b. Contact with parents

c. Zero grade if not taken in a timely manner.

2. 35% will be on graded lab work.

3. 25% will be on tests, quizzes, homework, graded class work, and projects.

There will be a reduction in grade if work is late up to 3 days after which the grade

will be zero.

4. 5% will be on final end of semester cleaning.
