Discussion Items

Budget

Coach Winship submitted an itemized budget totaling $4706.43. The board approved the budget with the caveat that winter hats would be an optional item for players to purchase if they want them. The high school will pay for the budgeted items the spring, and the Boosters will reimburse the school at the end of the season.

Field Equipment and Repairs

  • The High School will purchase weighted tarps for the field.
  • Coach Winship commented that the batting cage is removed very early in the season from the gym, and requested that the Boosters ask the school if it can be up longer. Mike Inlow will discuss it with the Athletic Director.
  • Sprinklers - The sprinklers for the field were discussed at the November meeting, and as the season approaches, we will need to figure out how they can be turned on/off.

Fundraising

  2. iPad Raffle - The board agreed that there would be several iPad (or other device) raffles as fundraising events. Because players cannot conduct fundraising activities before the season starts, there will be one pre-season iPad raffle conducted by parents. Kevin Gee will obtain an iPad to be raffled.

Steve MacDowell agreed to coordinate the yard sale for this year, and Andy Couch will work with Steve to plan/organize the event. 5. Heating oil raffle – Kevin Gee suggested the potential for having a raffle for 100 gallons of heating oil. This item may also be considered.

Booster Club Mission

The Falmouth Baseball Booster Club’s primary function is to raise money to benefit the Falmouth baseball program. The board, committee members and all volunteers work to help make the program run smoothly for the players, coaches and parents. We thank you in advance for volunteering to help our program be successful.

The activities and opinions of the booster club board and membership are not factors in the operation of the baseball team on the field or in determining which players are on each roster. While the coaching staff has close and important working relationships with members of the booster club, those relationships will not influence coaching decisions. Players are evaluated on their abilities, performance, attitudes, work ethic and attendance, not the financial or volunteer contributions of their parents.
