Attendees: Sheri Sweeney, Tanya Scott, Jon Lee, Mike Ruegg, Karen Weir-Brown, Holly Ellison, Lindy Chia, Alexa Padnos, Vanessa Legins

Not present: Lee Carpenter, Susan McCorriston, Liana deWit Smith, vacant spot

1. Called to order at 3:33 p.m. (Sheri Sweeney)

Motion to approve February minutes made by Mike Reugg and seconded by Holly Ellison.

Vote called: All approved.

Motion approved.

2. Report on March Superintendent’s Council Meeting (Lindy Chia)

·  Board approved 55 Chrome book computers on wheels bringing us to 77 total carts and a 1:2.7 computers to student ratio. This allows the district to prep for SBAC and expand the pilot program.

·  Homework committee presented to board in March

·  June 2 is opening of performing arts center.

·  There is a Red Robin fundraiser and a walk-a-thon for Nicole’s family.

·  Valley High was named a model continuation school through WASC accreditation.

·  Kolb is having their Distinguished School recognition tomorrow.

·  A Destination Imagination group from Kolb is going to the regional state level competition.

·  DPIE summer enrichment program will be for a fee and no credits.

·  Credit recovery summer school will be at Fallon.

·  Measure B phone bank 5:30-8:30 PM March 19, April 9, April 23 are Fallon’s night for calling – reminder that it is a mail-in ballot only; Facebook page “Yes on Measure B.”

·  Integrity in Action bowl-a-rama is coming up. The Stars of Integrity event is 5/20 and in September there is a Dublin fun fundraiser.

3. Student Report of Activities (Vanessa and Alexa)

Cards for Nicole’s family received lots of participants.

Fallon/Wells dance was Friday 3/17. Attendance was about ¼ Wells and ¾ Fallon. Students

·  Students have made cards for Nicole’s family (Wells student)

·  Fallon – Wells dance was recently held

·  Leadership has purchased new balls for check-out at lunch

·  3/20 at 7 PM is the dodge ball game against Wells (at Wells); tryouts are currently going on during lunch

·  Students like the new AP system but attendance is stressful

Report on Student Academic Club Activities (Jon Lee and Sheri Sweeney)

·  Science Olympiad competition had 6 participants – students did well

·  Math Olympiad

·  Math Counts

·  AMC testing

ACTION: PFC needs to advertise these clubs – possibly add a club tab to the PFC website

4. Local Control and Accountability Plan Requirements and Single Plan Update (Lindy Chia and Sheri Sweeney)

·  Fact Sheet: State Priorities for Funding: The Need for Local Control and Accountability Plans handed out

·  LCAP training started and planning is beginning.

·  LCAP at district level needs to include 8 priority areas – see handout

·  Template will be provided by CDE

·  Sheri is on the District committee

·  Single plan for student achievement also needs to include these 8 priority areas

·  Looking for enhanced role for parents in drafting the plan

·  Sheri is hosting a reception for parents on 3/25 for AP feedback and things needed for inclusion in the plan

·  Approval for the plan isn’t needed until May 12th SSC meeting

·  Supplemental funds will be decided by SSC

ACTION: think of items to include in our site plan considering the 8 priority areas – focus on closing achievement gap

5. Update on Fallon RtI Activities (Sheri Sweeney)

·  Sheri reviewed the RtI presentation given at the Board meeting for spotlight on Fallon

·  Youth Council is an alternative to suspensions

·  Ms. Ellison taking on RtI at Wells so this will be her last meeting
