FALCONER’S HILL INFANT SCHOOL

SCHOOL DETAILS

“This is a school where, not only every child but every family matters”

Ofsted

The school is situated to the north of Daventry, which is an attractive market town, 12 miles from Northampton and 8 miles from Rugby.

Falconer’s Hill Infant School was built in 1963. It stands on a campus shared by The Parker E-Act Academy, Falconer’s Hill Academy and Dolphin Day Nursery.

There are 175children on roll. The school is organized into six classes: two Foundation Stage classes and four KS1 classes.

The school has recently undergone a structural rebuild and a new extension has been added.

The classrooms are attractive and of good sizes. The school has a reputation as a vibrant and stimulating environment and a high premium is placed on child-centred displays. We are exceptionally well-resourced and have excellent indoor and outdoor facilities.

We have a strong team of Learning & Behavioural Support Assistants who work within the classrooms and support whole class, group and individual work. The whole staff are hard working and dedicated and contribute towards the happy, welcoming ethos of the school. Inclusion has the highest priority at the school.

We firmly believe that children need to feel safe, secure and happy to reach their learning potential. Our culture values nurture, empathy & positivity so it is essential that any prospective candidate has a calm, resilient personality with strong empathetic qualities.

We have a supportive school community with a proactive team of Governors. The ‘Friends of Falconer’s Hill Infant School’ successfully raise funds to enable a wide range of school improvements.

There are opportunities for all staff to get more involved in the life of the school if they would like to – this may involve helping with fundraising events for example.

The school had an Ofsted inspection in September 2013, which was very successful and identified us as ‘Good with Outstanding features’. We have been awarded the Values School Quality mark, Basic Skills Quality Mark, Outstanding School for PE, Best Kept School and Healthy Schools Award. A strong focus for the school is its ecological work and we have been awarded the ENCAMS Green Flag Ambassador status.

We never stand still and we pride ourselves on being an innovative and exciting environment for children to develop in and for staff to enhance their expertise.

We are obviously looking for an addition to our team who will complement our high expectations and standards.
