Parent Meeting

Daily Practice Schedule:

Practices are mandatory. Practice will beheld from 4:05pm-5:15pm after School only

Practice Monday, Tuesday Game day, Practice Wednesday, Practice, Thursday, No practice Friday.

A game schedule is attached to the back of the packet

Hydration:

Please make sure that your athlete is hydrating daily. A water cow will be available for athletes on practice days. Athletes are encouraged to bring a water bottle daily.

Practice Gear:

Athletes should layer clothing over their Athletic workout clothes. Hats, gloves and sweats are acceptable. Coaches must follow the cold weather protocol and will not allow athletes to work out if they are not prepared.

Injuries:

Due to Soccer conditioning, soreness is expected. Icing, hydrating, stretching and Ibuprofen will help treat soreness. If your athlete is injured, you may take them to see our Trainers (Vanessa Redeaux and Chad Hennessey) at Georgetown High School. Middle School treatments are at 7:00 am Monday through Friday. The training room is located behind the school next to the tennis courts.

If you choose to take your athlete to a doctor, please provide a doctor’s note with diagnosis and any restrictions. Please remember that we must follow doctor’s orders.

Soccer Game Days

Food: Athletes will not be provided meals on Game days. Athletes will need to be provided with a meal from home. Please send healthy food.

Travel: Athletes will be bussed to and from the host sites. Athletes may leave with their parents only. Parents must sign out their athlete with a coach before leaving.

Spectator Expectations: Please remember that at the beginning of the year, you signed the UIL Code of Conduct.

Parents should remain in the stands or behind the fences during all Games. Please don’t come down to the Field to speak to your athlete. Parents should never be on the Field, unless a coach acknowledges you to come down during an injury. Please no coaching from the stands.

Discipline:

Because of the nature of Soccer, personal athlete responsibility is very important. The Athlete must be trustedto be present at every game and act in a manner that brings pride to Forbes middle school. We will not bring an athlete to a game meet if he or she has shown that they are a discipline problem. Discipline will be handled as follows:

  1. Black Halo Mile
  2. Soccer Game suspension
  3. Suspension from Soccer Team

Uniform Care:

Athletes are responsible for washing soccer uniforms. Please wash uniforms in Cold water and hang on plastic hanger to dry. Players/Parents will be responsible for replacing damaged uniforms. Please do not iron!

Soccer Team Photos: Tuesday, April 25th 2017 During 8th Period Advisory and will continue through 9th period athletics. Picture forms will be handed out the week of April 17th 2017.

****Parents, You will need to drop off and pick up your athletes @ EVHS this particular game day. Athletes will need to be at the field no later than 7:30am. Coaches will be at the field no later than 7:15am.
