President Jacobs was called the meeting to order at @200 pm. President Jacobs presented to the Senate a copy of the letter to be sent to Regent Cook. Senator Brennan complimented the Senate President Jacobs on clearly and succinctly expressing the concerns of the Senate on the facts covered in the letter. The letter was a compilation of all the concerns Senators voiced at the prior meeting. After review by the Senators, it was decided that the letter should go forth.

A motion was made to by Senator Kant that the letter be sent by registered mail and a response be requested in thirty days. Senator Anderson seconded the motion and it was passed.

Senator Brennan informed the Senators of the resignation of Dr. Joyce Eissel from the Faculty Senate. It was decided that the Anheuser Busch School of Business should select/elect a replacement as soon as possible for the Fall 2014 semester.

President Jacobs suggested that an archival list of examples ______. A discussion followed but no decision was made.

President Jacobs again pressed the issue of Faculty members attend the Faculty Senate meetings. It was noted that any faculty member may attend but they would not have voting privileges. Faculty member Baker asked why the University did not offer a degree in English? Senator Kant suggested adding specific details for this query at a later meeting.

Senator Kant and faculty member Brian Elsesser spoke to the need for a greater respect by the University administration and the Board of Regents. It was discussed citing a lack of respect by those in authority at the University in positions of authority.

President Jacobs suggested that the Faculty Senate have a photo taken of the University Senators and posted in a place where it may be viewed by all faculty. Further discussion followed but no decision was made.

President Jacobs also suggested a collective meeting of the Faculty Senate and the Board of Regents to personally ensure open lines of communication in the future.

Senator Brennan suggested a vote of confidence in reference to the attitudes demonstrated toward Dr. Dwayne Smith. A discussion followed in that it was decided to fully support the office of Academic Affairs demonstrate institutional oversight of faculty in the areas of teaching, research and professional development.

President Jacobs again pressed the issue of faculty senators attending the Faculty Senate meetings and encouraging all faculty members to also attend.

Meeting was adjourned at 3:15 p.m.
