I. Dr. Winsauer calls meeting to order
II. Welcome to New Delegates
- Drs. Hernan Bazan (absent), Carmen Canavier, Rebecca Clark, Erich Conrad, Costa Dimitriades, Jay Hescock, Andrew Hollenbach, Erich Richter, Ted Weyand, and David Worthylake
- Brief introduction to the Faculty Assembly and its Executive Council regarding role, purpose and place within the LSU system.
III. Thanks and Plaque Presentation to Outgoing Delegates
- Drs. Bagby, Brierre (absent), Figueroa, Gregory, English, Molina, Venuti
IV. Election of new Senate and Administrative Council representatives for outgoing representatives
- Representatives to the Faculty Senate
o Drs. Jagneaux, Tilton, Bagby, and Kapusta currently serving
o Need 3 Clinical faculty and 1 Basic science faculty
o Meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 330.
o Motion Made with Second Supporting Motion and Passing vote for:

- Administrative Council
o Drs. Collins and Gutierrez currently serving

V. Dr. Winsauer presents updates from Administrative Council meetings
- Dr. Jay Coles will be new Head of Genetics, effective 1/109
- LCME Site Visit planned for 11/09
o Dr. Dicarlo will attend upcoming FA meeting to update the group
- Restructuring of the USMLE format has spurred changes in the medical school curriculum to streamline and blend clinical and basic science teaching and course material
- Dr. Nolan plans for marked changes to the health care network
o Progress: lsuhn.com has updated phone #s
o Based on financial descriptors, there will be a monthly review of the usage of clinic space and any necessary redistribution of space
- Governance of new hospital is under discussion in the context of the state charter. Tulane may have an expressed interest
- Move to 1542 Tulane Avenue said to be ontarget for end of 2008.
- Animal care facility planning has been changed and awaits FEMA approval
- Health care has undergone name change from ‘Definity’ to ‘LSU First’
o Coverage and plan details may have also undergone some changes
o Documentation is required for claiming of ‘dependents’
VI. New Item: monthly meeting of FA Executive Committee with Dean Nelson
- Potential items suggested by delegates include:
o Possible content changes in health care coverage
o Reorganizing of faculty parking access
o Documentation of faculty time and efforts via standardized format
- First meeting planned for: September 26, 2008
VII. Dr. Winsauer adjourns the meeting at 1:10 pm
- Next meeting: September 30, 2008 at 1200noon
