EYP SELECTED AS A NATIONWIDE “BEST AEC FIRM TO WORK FOR”

BY BUILDING DESIGN + CONSTRUCTION MAGAZINE

Albany, NY – December 14, 2011 – Premiere industry publication Building Design + Construction magazine selected EYP Architecture & Engineering as one of the nation’s Best AEC Firms to Work For in 2011. The prestigious annual list recognizes architecture, engineering, and construction firms for leadership, innovation, and for successfully creating positive workplaces for their employees.

“This recognition is a true testament to all of our employees, and speaks to the vision of the firm,” commented EYP President and CEO Tom Birdsey, AIA, LEED AP. He continued, “We are deeply committed to providing our staff with unparalleled growth opportunities, so that we in turn can continue providing our clients with the highest levels of expertise-based design and client service. We are extremely proud to receive this award that showcases our core values.”

EYP was specifically commended for providing staff members with a wide and unique variety of growth opportunities, all based on the firm’s overarching commitments to continuing education, training, and mentoring; forward-thinking expertise-based design; outstanding benefits and compensation packages; and strong adherence to its strategic plan.

Added Chief Human Resources officer Melissa Lassor, SPHR, CPCC, “Attracting and retaining top talent and maintaining an environment in which employees are encouraged to learn, develop, and mentor have been key to our success and our ability to deliver extraordinary value to clients. Honors like this are a nice acknowledgment that our efforts are not only effective, based on our growth and staff retention, but admired and valued by others in this industry.”

To celebrate the Best AEC Firms to Work For award, EYP is featured in Building Design + Construction’s December 2011 issue in a seven-page article called, “Expertise-Driven Design.” The extensive feature, quoting firm leaders Birdsey; Lassor; VP of Design and Expertise Leila Kamal, AIA, LEED AP; Vice President of Operations John Pocorobba, AIA, LEED AP; and Chief Information Officer Brad Horst, AIA, explores the firm’s highlights and successes, including its history, key target markets, prominent clients, commitment to continuing education and social responsibility, dedication to being a leader in technology, innovation, and research, and strategic plans for expansion and further growth.

Notes the article: “A well-conceived strategic plan, firmly executed. Dedication to training and continuing education. Service to the community. These are the components that make EYP Architecture & Engineering a BD+C “Best AEC Firm to Work For… At EYP Architecture & Engineering, growing the business goes hand in hand with growing the firm’s people.”
