Expressions of interest are invited from suitably qualified and experienced School Counsellors interested in a career opportunity relieving in the position of School Counsellor four days per week at Byron Bay High School from 24 April to 19 December 2017. (Term 2-4, 2017)

An expression of interest addressing the criteria, of no more than 2 pages in length should be submitted to the Principal Mr Peter King, by 4.00pm on Friday 3 March 2017.

Selection criteria

* Teaching and school counselling qualifications and successful experience as a school counsellor.

* Registration as a psychologist.

* High level knowledge and skills in the provision of psychological assessment, counselling and evidence based interventions within a school context.

* Demonstrated educational leadership to work productively as part of a Student Welfare team

* Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.

Expressions of interest must be endorsed by the applicant’s current supervisor and include the names and contact details of two referees one of whom must be the applicant’s supervisor.
