For organisations seeking to partner with Locality as an approved provider for the Investment and Contract Readiness Fund
The Investment and Contract Readiness Fund is a new £10 million fund, managed by The Social Investment Business, on behalf of the Office for Civil Society that aims to ensure social ventures are better equipped to secure new forms of investment and compete for public service contracts. The Fund will provide grants to social ventures that have the potential for high growth and delivering positive social impact for the purchase of specific support to help facilitate that growth. Social ventures will need to work with one of the Fund’s approved investment and contract readiness providers to apply. Locality is one of those providers. Locality is interested in working with organisations that suit our particular expertise, which is:
· Supporting community enterprises/organisations (so organisations with a defined geographical base which are locally owned and led)
· Organisations that are multi-purpose (so organisations delivering a wide range of services to that community)
As per the criteria for this funding stream we’ll also by only interested in working with organisations which can evidence a ‘high growth potential’ (so within 18 months being in a position to take on a £500m investment [loan] or successfully tender for a £1m contract) and have a clearly investible proposition. We also wish to be clear that we aim to work with a small number of organisations per year (to illustrate this we were approached by twice as many organisations that we would expect to work with in the first year within 24 hours of the fund opening).
