EXPRESS SALES MANAGER

Scope:
This position will assist in implementing the VisitDallas strategic planbymeeting and exceeding the goals set by the Director of Sales, Express. The primary responsibility of this position is to efficiently process, follow-up and service meeting and group business with 300 peak room nights or less from assigned market.Performance is measured objectively by clearly defined indicators including definite and tentative bookings, lead development, account management activities, communication, customer relationships, and partner management. The candidate will be responsible for initiating frequent contact with clientswho control placement of their various meetings, conventions, conferences and trade shows.
Responsibilities:
- Understanding and general knowledge of Dallas as a meeting destination to include but not limited to hotels, venues, and restaurants.
- This position will manage the accounts by checking lead sources daily via mail, telephone, email, Cvent, third party planners, internet requests and leads generated by Directors or other Sales Managers and distribute leads according to market. To ensure greater conversion, success and customer satisfaction, it will often be necessary to prompt hotel sales managers with pending or missed deadlines.
- Dealing directly with clients and VisitDallas members, process tentative/definite sales leads with 300 room nights or less within 24 hours or immediately as needed.
- Collect contracts from hotels to process a booking as definite.
- Organization required, as well as management of CRMrecords (traces, notes), contact lists, and individual calendar.
- The position will be responsible to organize and execute FAMs and events for all assigned customers.
- It is imperative that this candidate plays an active role in their market/territory related organizations and events.
- Assist with the distribution of promotional and on-site brochures, including A/V materials, convention/corporate service guide, facility and hotel brochures.
- Coordinate and attend site inspections for clients.
- Service groups once definite; submit member referrals based upon clients’ needs as well as other bureau services (customized map, web page, PR requests).
- Communicate pertinent information to assigned sales personregarding major accounts.
- Follow up with client within 2 weeks of the meeting to recap event and prospect for return business.
- Work with the VisitDallas Experience Department on sending post-convention reports (PCRs) to hotel. Follow-up with hotels to get final room block pick-up and then update MINT.
Supervision:
The position reports directly to the Director of Sales,Express.
Preferred Knowledge/Education:
Equivalent Education Level –College degree preferred or have equivalent hospitality industry experience.
Experience – Minimum of two yearsof sales/services experience in hospitality field.
Specific Skills – Sales acumen, prospecting and new client development, highly motivated individual, learn and apply sales expertise, strong verbal and written communication skills, organization, problem solving, attention to detail, advanced computer skills,and adherence to policies and procedures ofVisitDallas.
