Exploring the Essential Question – Plebeian Web Page

1. You and your group will be making a poster board (that will be provided to you) over “If the Roman Republic existed today, the people would probably use the Internet – You and your group members are Plebeians in Rome who are fighting for their equal rights against the Patricians. You all will design a poster board for a Plebeian Web site during the Conflict of Orders that will try to get people to donate and join to the cause of plebeian equality. (Please use Pg4 in your Chapter 33 Packet as your group sloppy copy!)
2. Your group will use the back of page 4 to make the sloppy copy as a group. Requirements are listed on that page as well: (Please think of before 287 B.C.E) Use Pages 348-351.
1) Title of the Page – Something to do with getting equality for the Plebeians in Rome.
2) A Slogan to get others to join the cause – Be creative.
3) A sentence of how and why the plebeians began fighting for their rights.
4) A sentence on what did the plebeians do to start the Conflict of Orders.
5) Current update sentence – Remember this is in 494 B.C.E. – Example – where are they currently at right now with gaining their rights.
6) Webpage/Website of where they can donate to the cause. – Example a link.
7) 1-2 Pictures
8) Neat & Colorful – Dazzle it up. It is a website.
3. This project must be accurate; you cannot make up facts that did not happen. However, you can make this project 21st century realistic, i.e. the point of the web page, since they did not have them back in 494 B.C.E. (Pictures)
4. You do not have to type this, however, you are more than welcome to type and print pictures. However, the handwriting must be neat.
5. Contribution of Group Members: Since this is a group project you are all required to contribute and be here. Please explain the roles of your group members.
