LEAPYEAR2 2017 – 2018

Explore, Embody, Empower and Evolve

Deepen and amplify your impact and self-expressionthrough a year of intentionalsupport of the growth of others

LEAPYEAR2 is a continuation of the work that begins during LEAPYEAR, but by holdingthe transformative container for others, rather than being heldwithin it. This integrates the reality of a whole human being deeper inward, and takes it out into your relationships. LEAPYEAR2 is for anyone who has completed LEAPYEAR andwho wishes to identify and embody their unique gifts, to learn to be a servant leader, and to learn how to guide and hold a transformative container for others.

LEAPYEAR2: 9 months with the following elements:

  1. The 10-day LEAPYEAR Leader Training
  2. 7 LEAPYEAR Retreats - Practical experience in holding transformative space for two groups of 1st year students
  3. LEAPYEAR2 Intensives - Small group mentoring sessions with Cassie Bull before and after each LEAPYEAR retreat
  4. Two 2-month-long individual internships of your own choosing

LEAPYEAR2 ELEMENTS:

LEAPYEAR Leader Training: LYR2 students receive the full 10-day training for LEAPYEAR group leaders taught by senior LEAPNOW staff. Learn how to lead a successful 3-month travel group including: budget & logistics, leader team dynamics, benchmarks of success, creating a container, understanding group dynamics, authentic leadership, program policies and enforcement, group scenarios and role-playing, and much more.

LEAPYEAR Fall and Spring Group Retreats: LEAPYEAR2 students are integral to creating and holding a container for the Fall 2017 (Arjuna) and Spring 2018 (B Group) cohorts. They assist with physical preparation of the campus, support in the kitchen while teaching cooking & baking, assist with internship placements, work in the office and assist during studio sessions. In the process, they pass through the LEAPYEAR curriculum in a deeper way. During these retreats, students meet regularly with Cassie and other staff to learn how to hold the LEAPYEAR container and to work with the questions and shadow material that inevitably arise when working intensively with individuals and groups.

LEAPYEAR2 Intensives with Cassie: A full day with Cassie is set aside before and after each retreat to prepare for the retreat, and to debrief what can be learned from each retreat. Sharing, artwork and movement are part of each intensive.

Fall and Spring Internships: Two-month periods are available in the fall and the spring for LEAPYEAR2 internships which may include, but are not limited to, language or skills study, service work, developing and implementing an offering that meets the needs of an organization or community anywhere in the world, or working by yourself or with another in areas of study that generate the change you want to see and be in the world (permaculture, global peace work, freedom). The intent is to work, learn and study in areas that you have identified as important for your evolution, training or livelihood, and to take yourself into the practical world of work, education and personal development.

PROGRAM GOALS:

  • Learn to create and hold a learning “container” for others – practice this with the daily challenge of holding the container for 7 LEAPYEAR retreats and ~50 LEAPYEAR students.
  • Take your personal self-development a major step forward - attaining a higher degree of integration of body, mind, emotion and spirit. Learn to show up in your fullness each day.
  • Design and carry out a learning plan that is unique to your needs - self-design your education.
  • Gain practical teaching and group facilitation experience while learning skills of creative, embodied leadership.
  • Learn to identify and overcome your personal roadblocks to creativity, wholeness and/or motivation.
  • Practice engaging your imagination and creativity while using your body as a vehicle for experiential, transforming education
