Release Notes: TrainSMART Version 3.6
As enhancements and fixes are made to TrainSMART we will periodically release a new Build. We are currently releasing Build 3.5. The enhancements mentioned below will automatically appear in your version of TrainSMART. There is nothing to be done on your part unless you want to begin using the new fields. This document serves as an introduction and summary of the changes that have been completed. If you have any questions please contact Robert McLaughlin or your QI Liaison.
Explanation of changes in TrainSMART version 3.6
Downloading off-line version changes
To assist in downloading the off-line version in areas with limited internet speed we have changed some processes on the backend. Initially the user would click download application and this would build the off-line version and then download it. This process could take a considerable amount of time and could result in timeout of the connection. To address this problem we have made this process a two stage process. The user will see an additional value when looking at the off-line application menu:
Create App Now
Download Application
Upload Data
TrainSMART automatically generates an off-line version every hour and saves it on the server. If a user needs a copy of the off-line version they can click Download Application and the file will be downloaded quicker than before. The only time a user would need to Create App Now would be if data was just entered and a copy was needed immediately.
Primary and Secondary Responsibilities uncoupled
Initially the Primary and Secondary data fields shared a common drop down values list. We have separated these two data points so they now can have separate values and they can each be truned off/on and have their title renamed. If you were currently using these fields your data will stay the same. The only change going forward would be the need to enter a value in both fields if you are using both fields to capture the same data.
