Stableford Full Handicap, Best 2 scores per hole
Objective: / To raise money for a golf scholarship(s) to ExeterUniversity
Cost: / £80 per person to include morning coffee, bacon roll, green
fee, 3-course lunch and prizes

The Club

Worplesdon GC ( is a traditional golf course that celebrated its centenary in 2008. It has been described as Surrey’s ‘little gem’ and is an ideal venue for a society.

Its traditionally built clubhouse provides a warm friendly atmosphere and its catering is well commended for its roast lunch and treacle tart as many alumni last September will testify!

The club is located 6 miles south of Bagshot (M3 Junction 3) and 6 miles from Guildford (A3). The club is also easily accessible by train from London Waterloo and Woking. From the station it is a short taxi drive (2 miles).

A convivial day out

Last September’s event at Worplesdon was extremely successful and we have accepted an offer to hold the annual golf day at Worplesdon in 2010, 2011 and 2012 on similar terms. Over 60 alumni and golf scholars attended the 4th annual golf day on a glorious September day with representatives spanning some 5 decades, with several cases of old friendships being renewed. The winners were one of the two ladies teams. Overall some £11,000 was raised in support of Exeter’s successful golf scholars.

This year we aim to increase our funding to golf scholarships. We have benefited greatly in recent years from some excellent auction prizes that have been generously donated and any prizes for 2010 will be gratefully received. We are also offering sponsorship for the holes and prizes.

Format

If you enter as an individual we will put you in a team with those closest to your time at Exeter.
