Review and update the agenda lead by Molly Svendsen

-Send agenda items to Molly by 9 a.m. the Friday prior to the meeting.

Moment of positivity

-Sharing a positive moment from the week

Review and approve meeting minutes from Nov 30th: Passed

Sarah Zobrist and Mickaela Cyrus will organize team-bonding activities

Diversity committee presented by Sarah Zobrist

-Seat available on the diversity committee previously occupied by Sarah

-Committee will meet once a month

-Currently in the process of hiring a full time diversity coordinator

Discussion on payroll lead by Molly Svendsen

-Due to the set ASCC budget we have limited financial resources available for payroll

-From this point forward noting over the allotted 10 hours per week will be approved

-To avoid the headache it is recommended to do a log 10 hours weekly, any time over that will be considered volunteer hours

Review ASCC Goals and Purpose 2016-17

-Updates include, but not limited to

  • The 2016-17 president, vice president and the Legislative coordinator be elected by the student body
  • Biweekly updates will be posted for the budget
  • ASCC will have 2 meetings outside school/work per term
  • Added goal: bring people to the conferences
  • Participation for the OSA day of action

Review Guidelines and expectations

Thrift Store Retro Bash discussed by Kayla weaver

-Dining hall will be the caterer for the event

-Discussed the possibility of Mickaela Cyrus designing the poster for the event

-Date change: Friday January 27th 6-9pm

-There will be food at the event as well as a DJ

-In order to gain admission into the dance what you are wearing must be from a thrift store with the tag still intact

-Anticipated support for the event will include having the team attend the event and helping with publicity

Upcoming events discussion by Molly Svendsen

-MLK Day of Service, Jan 16th – Kayla Weaver, Melody Hammett, Mickaela Cyrus will be in attendance

-OSU-Cascades logo & retail focus groups, Jan 19th (12-1, 1-2, 4-5)

  • Wanting feedback on the new logo design: logo focus will be from 12-1pm and 1-2 pm and retail focus group will be from 4-5pm

-Safe Zones Training, January 20th from 9am-12pm

-Meeting with leadership Team Jan 24th 3-4pm

  • A great opportunity to meet with the leadership board and discuss what ASCC is doing as well as gain insights

-Myers- Briggs Type discussion I (career services) January 30th, February 20thm march 6th

  • Gain valuable leadership skills please complete the assessment before the January 30th ASCC meeting where we will discuss the results

-University Lobby Day will be February 14th

-NWSLC, Feb 24th- 26th

-OSU Lobby day is April 20th

ASCC projects update-

-Food pantry- sent to Kelly today hopefully we will get approval by the end of January

-Test book lending program

  • Free books based on low income status
  • Added Melody Hammett to the help with the program

-Beaver hangout

  • Matched with k-12 students to mentor them on college and encourage the possibility
  • Jordyn, Gabby, and Sarah are interested in helping with the program

-Add office hours online

-If school is closed you can work from home or reschedule your office hours and meetings for another day in later in the week
