November 6, 2015

Minutes

Executive Members in attendance were Christine Lopez, Katie Jasper, Nicky McHone, Kathy Pazur, Diana Levin, Andrea Farrell, Courtney Bond and Rachana Zubelik. Laura Clark, Assistant Principal, was also in attendance.

Executive Member absent none.

Members: We had 9 other member in attendance.

Next Meeting is December 11, 2015.

1.  Gathering prayer: Christine Lopez opened the November 6, 2015 meeting with a prayer.

2.  Principal’s Report: Laura Clark gave the principal’s report.

·  The Gala is looking for an adult volunteer to organize young artist.

·  Janice Geisheker, technology coach, comes in twice a week. She has flexible hours which allows her to accommodate the school’s and teacher’s needs. Janice has been training teachers during early release days to help incorporate technology and communicate tools into the classroom. The preschool teachers are working on using technology for documentation. The intermediate grades are working on coding and output for kids. The middle school teachers presented to the other teachers ways that they have been implemented technology in the classroom.

·  An International Bachelorette parent meeting is going to be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 from 9-10AM.

·  Thanksgiving Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2015.

·  The office is working on the calendar and enrollment forms for next year.

3.  Program Committee: Katie Jasper / cancelled / explain:

·  It was determined that the Program Committee will limit its activities to the distribution of financial support to the teacher which will allow them to incorporate programs into their students curriculum.

Past Events for review:

4.  Fall Teacher/Staff Luncheon: Chairs Alison Pinchot and Sarah Lampignano

·  We received thank you’s from the teachers on the wonderful luncheon that was provided and served. These thank you’s were passed on to the chairs.

·  A template was used to help develop a step-by-step approach to help guide next year’s organizers, and will be available for other events. It was proposed to make the template available in the cloud/ google docs, which will allow for an easier less cumbersome way to organize the activities/events.

5.  Morning with Moms: Mrs. Scharm and Mrs.Toussaint

·  Mrs. Sharm provided a report indicating the number of participants was lower than the RSVP would have indicated.

·  It was also noted that the same foods, muffins, fruit and yogurt, will be served by the teachers at Dining with Dads.

·  Please note the date for Dining with Dads has been changed to Friday, February 5, 2016 at 8 am.

Upcoming Events:

6.  Roller Skating and Photo’s Hotdogs: Kelly Gounaris

·  The Rolling Skating Party is scheduled for this Sunday, November 8, 2015. Kelly said that they have already 100 confirmed participants, and she has volunteers to help man-the-door.

·  The class with the highest participation at the Roller Skating will get a pizza party.

·  Also, Photo Hotdogs are giving 25% of their sales on Sunday, November 8, 2015 to HFCA.

7.  Veteran’s Day: Chair Jen Lando Nov 11

·  Veterans are coming in on Wednesday, November 11 (Veterans Day) to speak in the classroom for 10 minutes to the younger students and 15 to 20 minutes to the older kids.

·  Veteran’s Day program is being held in the church at 2:30 pm to help show the Veterans our appreciation for their service.

·  Coupons are also collected for the military. This is also due on Wednesday.

·  Halloween Candy is also being collected by the parish for the soldiers stationed overseas.

·  Thank you cards are being collected on Wednesday to be distributed at the VA hospital.

8.  Gala update: Heather Robak and Linda Longmeyer

·  The web site is operational. www.HolyFamilyGala.org is where event tickets, sponsorship and raffle tickets can be purchased.

·  Do a day to help the Gala!

·  Looking for individuals to help man tables and sell raffle tickets.

·  Volunteer will be provided a script and follow-up guidance. It is encouraged to do this with a friend in an area that you would be familiar with. The Holy Family Community has 4000 members.

·  Information will be sent out in backpack next week.

9.  Santa Shop and Cookie Walk: Rose Jusi and Kathy Pazur

·  The Santa Shop will be half a day Thursday and a full day Friday (December 3 and 4).

·  The Cookie Walk will be on Friday, December 4.

·  Look on PA newsletter for Sign-up Genius. There are volunteer opportunity to help man the very successful Santa Shop and Cookie Walk.

·  The Cookie Walk is looking for wonderful bakers to make between 5 and 10 dozen cookies. Also, see PA newsletter for Sign-up Genius Bakers.

·  Used Uniforms will also be available for selection on Friday, December 4.

Added Agenda Items

10.  Healing Hands: Britany Chenicek

·  There has been a moderate increase in need for assistance, support and prayers from our families with illness and babies being born.

·  If you or a classmate’s family needs assistance, contact Britany Chenicek.

11.  Spirit Wear: Heather Robak

·  Look for Spirit Wear Flyer for new items.

·  The purchase selection is due no later than November 18, 2015 to insure items are back before Christmas.

·  An opportunity will be given to pick-up Christmas items in Narthex. The date and time will be determined once shipment is received.

12.  Virtual Backpack:

§  Questions came up about the status of the virtual backpack.

§  Laura Clark indicated that a second revision has been completed, and updates should be available soon.

§  Check out School Rush where teachers have been posting classroom pictures.

13.  Meeting Adjourned: The meeting was adjourned by Christin Lopez.
