Executive Intern Program Assistant

The Parliamentary Development Program (PDP II)together with the Parliamentary & Executive Program Alumni Association NGO “Interns’ League” are looking for a candidate to fillthe part-time position of Executive Interns Program Assistant to the Coordinator.

The Executive Interns Program is the extension of the Parliamentary Internship Program which was founded in 1995 by the Association of Former Members of Congress, with the aim to involve young professionals in the legislative process and promote democratic principles in the Ukrainian parliament. In 2008, the Program was extended to the central executive branch authorities and the Presidential Administration.

Since 1995, total 1,176 interns have finished the Parliamentary and Executive Internship Program.USAID has supported this program since its inception. Staring from 2010 PDP II has totally transferred the responsibilities for the management of the Parliamentary intern program to the Interns’ League, an NGO of Intern Program Alumni, while the executive component still under the PDP II administration.

It is planned that from 2013 the Executive Internship program will be fully administered by the NGO “Interns’ League”. Therefore, we seek an individual who may commit for one year on a part-time basis with the intention of a longer-term commitment in the future in the case if the funding and circumstances will allow it.

PositionDescription

Executive Intern Program Assistant to the Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Assistance in organization of the selection process of candidates for the Program at the central executive agencies
  • Assistance in placement of interns at appropriate structural units of the central executive agencies
  • Assistance in budget management for the interns maintenance who require it
  • Assistance in placement of interns at the dormitories (if available)
  • Program’s оpening and сlosing event management
  • Assistance in supervision of interns’ work (collecting monthly reports and checking attendance)
  • Assistance in conducting of events and excursions
  • Preparation of сorrespondence concerning Intern Program meetings
  • Assistance in preparation of necessary documents, recommendation letters etc.
  • Updating and maintaining the executive Program Alumni database renovation

Qualifications

  • Master degree
  • Very goods organization, communication, responsibility, self-motivation, creativity
  • Previous experience with internship programs preferred
