Head Teacher Antony Flynn

Dear Parent / Guardian,

Thank you for returning the paperwork so promptly.

For those of you who ticked the ‘meeting’ box in my previous correspondence I will be holding a meeting at 7pm on Thursday August 29thin the school library. I will show you a powerpoint presentation about our upcoming trip and answer any questions you may have.

Some parents who have chosen not to attend the meeting have asked how much spending money their son/daughter will need. My advice is £60 in Euros and this should be more than enough to cover any personal expenses. I will give each pupil £20 on the ferry on Monday morning for breakfast and £20 for dinner on the ferry on the return leg of our trip. The spending money they bring is for their own personal requirements as our 3 meals are paid for at the chateau. They may want to bring food and drink for the bus to avoid buying them in the service stations we stop at on our way to/from Dover.

I would ask that all passports and EHICs are brought to me between now and Friday 6th September and I will keep them in the school safe. I took a photocopy of both documents some months ago to ensure they were in date and I will take the photocopy with me but obviously we will need the original documents for travelling to France.

The 39 pupils travelling on the trip have been divided into 4 groups. Mrs McMillan will keep the paperwork and spending money for her group, Mr Campbell for his group, Miss Cantais for her group and I will keep the paperwork and spending money for my group.

You may have noticed that the trip to Aqualand has had to be cancelled. This is due to the complex asking for a 5th member of staff to supervise at the pool. This would cost too much money for the sake of a 2 ½ hour trip. The cost of this trip will be reimbursed to you once we have returned along with any surplus money.

Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any queries prior to the trip.

See you this Thursday evening or at the bus at 5.30pm on Sunday September 8th!

Yours sincerely

Mrs S Doyle
