“I believe a person’s life is the sum of his or her own choices and that a single turn down a different path can play a key role in one’s future. That “single turn” I took was a scholastic one which changed my life…Sumner Academy taught me how to think, not what to think. Sumner Academy took the time to know and nurture me….Sumner Academy allowed its students the freedom to explore, and encouraged us to be individuals. The teachers instilled in each of us a passion for learning….My three years at Sumner Academy taught me that being in the right school can make all of the difference. Looking back at my graduation from Sumner Academy, I know I left as a better person: more prepared for the road ahead than I ever could have been; self-confident and excited about my future.”

Lipman Brothers and Associates:

We are contacting you on behalf of Sumner Academy located in Gallatin, Tennessee. Our school is known for a strong academic curriculum and for producing the top students that feed both the local and private High Schools. Sumner Academy is hosting an auction fund raiser to alleviate debt accrued by tornado damage repair. Though our school was covered by insurance, it did not sufficiently pay for total recovery. We lost our gym, computer lab equipment, library books and much more.

This financial year is particularly important to Sumner Academy due to the decline in the economy. More students are seeking financial assistance in order to attend our school. We have budgeted over $300,000 in scholarships. This coupled with our budget crisis gives our annual dinner auction quite the challenge.

We rely on auction item donations from businesses and individuals to ensure our auction is a success. It is an excellent marketing opportunity for your organization. Each year community leaders, business executives, leading professionals and parents from Nashville and surrounding areas attend the auction. We average 300+ in attendance. In making a donation, you are promoting your business and making an investment in the future of our children and our community.

Our goal is to raise $100,000 at the 24th annual action, ”S.E.A.S.-Successfully Educating All Students”. It is a salute to our faculty who promote the spark of ingenuity and individuality in our children each day. With the economic turndown, our staff did not receive raises this year and yet continues to provide an outstanding education encouraging the most from our students.

Sumner Academy families and faculty will host this event at Bluegrass Country Club, Friday, November 21st, 2009. Please consider a donation for this year’s benefit and help us educate tomorrow’s leaders. Your generosity would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Becky E. Roy
