Dear Madam:

No body of government may legally refuse a child’s right to an education for the failure to undergo testing for a condition that poses no risk to others.

I hereby declare that, I, ______, as the custodial parent having responsibility for my child, ______, who is a minor child enrolled in the ______School, have not yet consented to Lead testing ______.

I further assert the following:

______, who is now 3.3 years old, has lived in buildings less than 10 years old for the first 2.5 years of her life. She has not lived in or routinely visited a house built before 1978 that has been remodeled within the last year.

The interiors of the buildings in which ______has lived have been painted with NON-lead based paints. Thus, she has not lived in or routinely visited a house built before 1950 with peeling or chipping paint.

______does not live with an adult whose job or hobby involves lead.

______’s family does not use any home remedies that may contain lead.

______is vegetarian and only consumes, grains, vegetables, legumes, fruit, and dairy products. Most of which we purchase the certified organic variety. Thus, the foods she consumes contains a low risk of being contaminated with lead.

We routinely drink filtered or bottled water and have never relied on un-filtered municipal water as our primary drinking source. This has lowered our chances of lead contamination via the municipal water supply.

We routinely use very cold tap water for cooking. This lowers the risk of lead contamination via the water supply.

We routinely do not wear shoes in the home. This lowers the risk of tracking in lead dust (or other harmful substances) throughout the home.

______has not been injected with vaccines, many of which, astoundingly contain mercury and lead.

Symptoms commensurate with lead poisoning are known to be:

  • Learning and behavior problems
  • Tiredness
  • Headaches
  • Hearing problems
  • Weight loss
  • Hyperactivity
  • Irritability

______has not exhibited any of these of symptoms.

Overall, our family takes a wholistic approach to living and are continuously evaluating the foods with which we nourish our bodies and the products that we use in our home.

I have included these assertions to show that ______is low-risk for lead poisoning, and that the fact that she has not been lead tested, in no way demonstrates a lack of love, concern, or care for her and her well-being from her family. Furthermore, our family will challenge any governmental body who seeks to deny ______the right to an education because she has not been lead tested.
