PTS Status – Lisa Hyater & Juliaann Hess

Juliaann gave a brief update on IMpb. The final rule for mailing standards is being worked and the final comments are being made.

Banner text will be changed to USPS Tracking Number instead of the combination of titles.

The proposed final rule will be issued for comment before December 31, 2010.

We are still going forward with the Zip + 4 requirement. We will eventually be able to do dynamic routing. We will stay with the same time frame as Advance Notice.

File Version 1.6 will be available on January 2, 2010. We’re open to customers who want to change early. We’re requesting an EDI customer volunteer to work with USPS.

An update was given on the Label Certification processes and checklist. Things that are failing have problems with barcode quality or would impact visibility payment. The issues are being consolidated.

Juliaann has a draft of Publication 91 that she is reviewing. The draft will be updated and a revised version will be out by the end of the month.

There are changes to the Extract File being proposed (Event extract, not postage extract). A CR has been submitted but it hasn’t been scheduled yet.

Dawn Whitley reported that the expected delivery date will be added. Either version 1.3 or version 1.4 of the extract will be changed. Creating a new extract file (i.e. 1.5) is also being considered.

Juliaann suggested that USPS send out a 1 page sample with the options that are being considered followed by a meeting with interested stakeholders to offer input on what is being proposed.

John Medeiros and possibly the parcel group volunteered but suggested that the meeting should be scheduled during the week of December 13-17 instead of next week.

Juliaann informed customers that they may be getting a new event in their extract. The “Notice Left” event was implemented in the August. There were 5 events that were added to better identify what happens: Event Codes 51, 52, 53, 54, and 56.

An addendum to the release notes will be available by the end of this week. National rollout will be mid January 2011.

eVS Status – Vicki Bosch & Jennifer Howard

Jennifer presented the issues with the November 7th Release. The following issues were covered in her presentation:

·  Postage Statement processing delays

·  October reconciliation delays

·  November reconciliation concerns

The following system enhancements were presented:

·  Postage extract

·  Mailer ID association managed from AMDC certification

·  Download reports are not generating with data for manifest errors

·  Manifest search by EFN is not finding “sub-EFNs”

Customers were asked report issues any additional issues to the eVS help desk

FAST appointments (example screenshots were presented) were not happening for some customers who use other companies to transport their mailings.

Data standardization will occur in the January Release, however the proposed Standard Mail change was not approved for that release.

New Express Mail Products include the following: Express Mail Flat Rate Envelope and Express mail Open and Distribute (requires 3-digit STC/IMpb; file version 1.5 or 1.6)

New Priority Mail Products include the following: Priority Mail Legal Flat Rate Envelope, Priority Mail Padded Flat Rate Envelope, Priority Mail Regional Rate Boxes, and Critical Mail

Hold for Pickup Service will also be part of the January 2nd Release.

The scope of the May was presented. The proposed scope included MID Conversion and previously reviewed SRS documents (e.g. reconciliation and presort)

The deadline for comments on Publication 205 was November 30, 2010 and January 2, 2011.

Note: There will be an extended comment period since things are out of scope.

Industry Feedback

The issue regarding the Industry documentation review is resolved because there is additional time available to review.

Industry needs a couple of weeks available for feedback to technical documentation. There was a concern that most of the customers represented on the call are not the technical experts from their respective companies.

Questions / Comments

Marsha asked for the timeline for the tracking number. Vicki stated it should be provided right away.

The eVS Presentation needs to be sent out to the distribution.

Next meeting scheduled for Thursday 12/16/2010 at 3:30pm.
