1st District: 01/28/13 to 02/05/13

A1 Beat:

·  Two incidents occurred at the parking garage at 198 Halpine Road, Rockville:

Ø  A theft from a vehicle occurred between midnight and 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, 1/31. No forced entry; property taken.

Ø  A vehicle theft occurred between 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, 1/31 and 9:15 a.m. on Friday, 2/1. No further information.

A2 Beat:

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 12200 block of Wilkins Avenue, Rockville on Tuesday, 2/5 at 11:22 a.m. Unknown entry. Property taken.

·  Three thefts from vehicles occurred in the parking lot of the Timpano Restaurant, 12021 Rockville Pike, Rockville between 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, 1/31. Entry was forced on all three vehicles and loose items left inside were taken, such as a GPS or computer bags.

A3 Beat:

·  No significant events occurred during this reporting period.

B1 Beat:

·  A theft from a vehicle occurred in the 900 block of Twin Oaks Drive, Rockville between 11:00 p.m. on Friday, 2/1 and 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, 2/2. The vehicle had been left unlocked. The vehicle was searched and a laptop and a backpack were taken.

·  A theft from a vehicle occurred in the 8900 block of Cophenhaver Drive, Rockville on Tuesday, 1/29 between 12:00 p.m. and 3:46 p.m. Forced entry; radio taken.

B2 Beat:

·  An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 400 block of Long Trail Terrace, Rockville on Monday, 2/4 at 10:55 a.m. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

B3 Beat:

·  No significant activity.

2nd District: 1/28/2013 to 2/5/2013

D1 Beat:

·  No significant activity to report

D2 Beat:

·  A commercial office burglary occurred at 7735 Old Georgetown Road, Bethesda on Friday, 2/1 between 5:45 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.

Suspect: B/M, black clothing, gloves.

·  Two commercial office burglaries occurred at 7272 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda overnight from Monday, 2/4 to Tuesday, 2/5. Two office suites were entered forcibly; property taken.

·  A theft occurred in the 4300 block of Elm Street, Chevy Chase on Tuesday, 1/29 at approximately 2:30 p.m. An unknown suspect removed property from the victim.

D3 Beat:

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 9500 block of Cable Drive, Kensington on Saturday, 2/2 at 4:35 p.m. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 3800 block of Village Park Drive, Chevy Chase at approximately 2:00 a.m. on Monday, 2/4. Forced entry; property taken.

·  An attempted theft from a vehicle occurred in the 3800 block of Village Park Drive, Chevy Chase during the early morning hours on Monday, 2/4. No entry was gained.

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 3800 block of Village Park Drive, Chevy Chase on Monday, 2/4 at 2:30 a.m. Forced entry; property taken.

D4 Beat:

·  A commercial office burglary occurred at 11140 Rockville Pike, Rockville overnight from Monday, 1/28 to Tuesday, 1/29. Forced entry; property taken.

·  Two thefts from vehicles occurred during the evening hours on Thursday, 1/31. Entry was forced on two different vehicles parked in commercial lots in the 4900 and 5200 blocks of Nicholson Lane, Rockville. Loose items left inside were taken, including purses, briefcases and a cell phone.

E1 Beat:

·  Eight thefts from vehicles were reported this week in this Bethesda beat, all occurring during the overnight hours. Four of the events involved theft of vehicle parts. Those vehicles, which were parked in the 5100 block of Westbard Avenue, were found with forced entry. The other four incidents occurred in other areas of the beat and involved unforced entries and theft of loose property (wallet and laptop).

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 7500 block of River Falls Road, Rockville on Tuesday, 1/29 at 10:50 a.m. Forced entry; property taken.

3rd District: 1/28/2013 to 2/5/2013

G1 Beat:

·  A strong arm robbery occurred in the area of Colesville Road and Fenton Street, Silver Spring on Saturday, 2/2 at 4:55 p.m. The two male suspects threatened the victim and removed property.

Suspects: (2) B/Ms, 5’10 one described as having dreadlocks, wearing a black snow suit, had a tear drop tattoo under one of his eyes;

(1)  B/F, 5’3” to 5’5”, 120 lbs.

·  A strong arm robbery occurred in the area of Colesville Road and Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring on Saturday, 2/2 at 10:58 a.m. The suspects forcefully removed property from the victim.

Suspects: (4) B/Ms, 17-20 years, 5’7” to 5’11, one described as wearing a black

mask, black jacket; second suspect described as wearing a baseball cap, black vest, red shirt and black pants.

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 600 block of Ray Drive, Silver Spring on Friday, 2/1 at 8:16 a.m. Forced entry; suspect arrested.

Arrested: Male, age 19, from La Plata.

G2 Beat:

·  A robbery occurred in the area of Second Avenue and Luzerne Avenue, Silver Spring on Tuesday, 2/5 at 2:50 p.m. The suspects threatened the eighteen year old female victim and obtained property.

Suspects: (2) B/Fs, 15-18 years, 5’1” to 5’5”, 110 lbs, one described as wearing a jacket, jeans and a nose ring; the second suspect wore a coat, blue jeans.

H1 Beat:

·  No significant events occurred during this reporting period.

H2 Beat:

·  A residential burglary occurred on Thursday, 1/31 between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. in the 300 block of Hillmoor Drive, Silver Spring. Unknown entry; property taken.

·  A residential burglary occurred on Tuesday, 1/29 between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Colony Road, Silver Spring. Forced entry; property taken.

I1 Beat:

·  A commercial burglary occurred at a construction site located in the 1000 block of Milestone Drive, Silver Spring between 2:30 p.m. on Friday, 2/1 and 5:00 a.m. on Monday, 2/4. Forced entry; property taken.

I2 Beat:

·  A robbery occurred in the 13900 block of Castle Boulevard, Fairland on Monday, 2/4 at 6:00 p.m. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspect: B/M, 20-25 years, 5’11 -6’1”, 180-200lbs, black hoodie, black pants.

J1 Beat:

·  An attempted burglary occurred at Sherwood High School, 300 Olney Sandy Spring Road, Olney on Sunday, 2/3 at 10:40 p.m. Nothing taken.

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 12800 block of Camellia Drive, Silver Spring on Thursday, 1/31 between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 800 block of Lindsay Manor Lane, Silver Spring on Saturday, 2/2 at 3:55 a.m. Unforced entry; nothing taken.

·  Two thefts from vehicles occurred on Friday, 2/1/ between 12:01 a.m. and 7:29 a.m. in the 2000 block of Randolph Road, Wheaton-Glenmont. Vehicle parts were taken.

J2 Beat:

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 5400 block of Olney Laytonsville Road, Olney overnight from Wednesday, 1/30 to Thursday, 1/31. Forced entry; unknown whether anything was taken.

K1 Beat:

·  An armed robbery occurred in the 3300 block of Weeping Willow Court, Aspen Hill on Wednesday, 1/30 at 2:54 p.m. The suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspects: Two black males, both 6’ – 6’2 “, thin build, both wearing black ski masks, and both wearing red ski jackets.

·  An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 3100 block of Birchtree Lane, Silver Spring on Tuesday, 1/29 between 11:00 a.m. and 11:54 a.m. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

·  Multiple thefts occurred on Friday, 2/1/ between 1:01 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. in this Aspen Hill beat. In the 3700 block of Bel Pre Road, Aspen Hill, vehicle parts were taken from 6 vehicles.

K2 Beat:

·  An armed robbery occurred in the 3900 block of Wendy Lane, Aspen Hill on Monday, 2/4 at 3:30 p.m. The suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspects: 3 black males, 19-20, one with dreadlocks.

·  An armed robbery occurred on Sunday, 2/3 at 11:50 p.m. in the 12600 block of Farnell Drive, Silver Spring. The suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspects: Black male, 25 – 28, and a black female 18-22, both wearing all black.

·  An aggravated assault occurred at Connecticut Avenue and Jeffry Street, Silver Spring on Wednesday, 1/30 at 6:50 a.m. The suspect is known to the victim.

Arrested: Male, 22, from Aspen Hill.

L1 Beat:

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 11600 block of Gail Street, Silver Spring on Monday, 2/4 between 7:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Unforced entry; property taken.

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 600 block of Winona Court, Silver Spring on Thursday, 1/31 between 8:00 a.m. and 6:25 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.

Arrested: Male, 16, from Silver Spring;

Male 17, from Silver Spring.

L2 Beat:

·  An attempted robbery occurred in the 1700 block of Republic Road, Silver Spring on Thursday, 1/31 at 7:55 p.m. The suspects threatened the victim with a weapon.

Suspects: 4 males – 1 black, other 3 unknown.

M1 Beat:

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 11100 block of Maryland Manor Court in Germantown between 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, 1/29 and 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 1/30. Forced entry; property taken.

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 19400 block of Zinnia Circle in Germantown between 6:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, 1/30. Forced entry; nothing taken.

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 20100 block of Locustdale Drive in Germantown around 10:10 p.m. on Thursday, 1/31. The suspect is known to the victim.

Arrested: Male, age 49, from Germantown

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 11400 block of Scottsbury Lane in Germantown around 4:35 p.m. on Friday, 2/1. No further details are available at this time.

·  An attempted commercial burglary was reported at Pleasant Grove Community Church located at 11225 Mountain View Road in Damascus between 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, 2/2 and 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, 2/3. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

N1 Beat:

·  An armed robbery occurred in the 12600 block of Grey Eagle Court in Germantown around 9:40 p.m. on Wednesday, 1/30. The suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspect: B/M, 21, 5’10” -6’00”

·  An armed robbery occurred at the bus stop near Locbury Circle and Rexmore Drive in Germantown around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, 2/5. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspect: B/M, 30-35, 5’8-5’9, 180-200

·  An aggravated assault occurred at The Green Turtle located at 19961 Century Boulevard in Germantown around 2:00 a.m. on Friday, 2/1.

Arrested: Male, age 23, from Germantown

N2 Beat:

·  A residential burglary occurred in the unit block of Cottage Field Court in Germantown between 8:15 a.m. and 9:25 a.m. Forced entry; property taken.

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 13000 block of Well House Court in Germantown between 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, 2/2 and 6:20 p.m. on Sunday, 2/3. Unforced entry; nothing taken.

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 13600 block of Harvest Glen Way in Germantown around 3:25 p.m. on Monday, 2/4. The suspect is known to the victim.

Arrested: Male, age 16, from Germantown

·  Six thefts from vehicle events occurred in the Germantown MARC Train Station (park and ride) parking lot located at 19311 Mateny Hill Road in Germantown between Sunday, 2/3 and Tuesday, 2/5:

Ø  On 2/3, entry was forced into four separate vehicles parked in the lot and consoles were searched. Nothing was reported taken.

Ø  Between 2/3 and 2/5, vehicle parts were taken.

Ø  On 2/5, entry was forced into a vehicle.

·  A robbery occurred in the unit block of School Drive in Gaithersburg on Wednesday, 1/30 just after 11 pm. The suspects threatened the victims with a weapon and obtained property.

Suspect: B/M 25 years, 6’2”, 250, black hoodie, ski mask

·  A robbery occurred in the 9300 block of Willow Creek Drive in Montgomery Village on Thursday, 1/31. The suspect is known to the victim.

·  A carjacking occurred in the parking lot of Lake Forest Mall in Gaithersburg on Sunday, 2/3 just after 1 pm. The suspect forcefully obtained the vehicle from the victim.

Suspect: B/M 25-30 years, 6’0”, 180, goatee

·  An aggravated assault occurred in the 18200 block of Lost Knife Circle in Montgomery Village on Saturday, 2/2. The suspect is known to the victim.

Arrested: Male, age 30, from Gaithersburg

·  A residential burglary occurred in the 18500 block of Boysenberry Drive in Montgomery Village on Wednesday, 1/30 between 9:20 am and 2:15 pm. Forced entry; property taken.
