Morena,

Every year I am looking for speakers working in health who can come and be a part of our programme to help inspire our young Maori rangatahi to choose a career in health. I have attached photos so you can see some workshops from previous years.

We are a small Trust based over at Maori Health who’s vision is to see more Maori working in health by supporting students in secondary school, exposing them to health careers and through tertiary education and then on to employment in the sector.

I would love for you to pass on or discuss with your staff to see if they would be happy to be involved and come and talk to our students on the WhyOra programme we run here at the hospital, I have attached a brochure as well for you to have a look at.

Our programmes intention is to show Year 11,12 and 13 students what it is like to work in health and to encourage them to take up careers or study in health when they leave school.

Our speakers help is invaluable to our students and this programme, encouraging our youth to take a path in health so any time you think you may be able to contribute would be very much appreciated.

The dates and times are below and if you think you could help us out by coming and talking to our students and telling them why what you do is awesome and why they should consider a career like yours .

All of the students come in to the hospital and are in the education centre , it will take maybe 30 minutes of your time in education centre based workshops and an hour and a half for behind the scenes visits but you can tell me which ones you are able to help with.

For those who are interested I can come and explain fully what is involved first.

Our next workshops are below but we have workshops running in May , June and July also which we will need speakers for.

March 16 10.30am

Thank you in advance
