EVER SEVEN GOLF LEAGUE

LEAGUE RULES FOR 2015

1. All golfers must be E-7 members in good standing (current with dues).

2. The league will compete at Idyl Wyld Golf Course (734-464-6325) for twenty (20) weeks beginning on Thursday, April 16, 2015; first tee time is 4:15pm. We will tee off the same side each night. There will be two (2) position rounds – 10th week and 20th week.

3. Cost of league play will be $500.00 for Charter Members payable in two installments. The cost for Participating Members will be $550.00 payable in two installments.

4. Scoring will be as follows:

2 points per hole, per golfer 36

6 point bonus for low individual net score 12

12 point bonus for low team net score 12

TOTAL 60

5. Handicap will be 100% of the difference between your score and 35. Your average will be computed using the low four (4) of your last five (5) rounds. Last years average will be used as many times as needed at the beginning of the season until each golfer has played 5 weeks. New golfers will be handicapped using available information.

6. Actual scores are to be recorded on scorecards. We are using USGA-Equitable Stroke Control, for handicap purposes. Handicap Strokes allowed: 0-4 double bogey

7. Substitute golfers may compete on any night; however, to sub on the final position night, the sub must have competed a minimum four (4) times in prior matches. Subs may not give an opponent more than two (2) strokes on any hole. Subs will be required to pay $10.00 to the league each time they play. This money is to be collected by the sub’s playing partner of the team and turned over to the treasurer of the league.

8. Matching of scorecards is prohibited.

9. All make-up rounds must be turned into the secretary within two (2) weeks of the scheduled match. Make-up matches need not be played at Idyl Wyld. If no make-up match is reported to the secretary in the allotted time, eight (8) points will be credited to each of the four (4) golfers and sixteen (16) points to each team.

10. Rainouts will be declared by the golf course only. After play begins, the league officers may declare a rainout. The rainout will count only if all matches have not completed a minimum of six (6) holes.

11. Absentees will be penalized four (4) strokes to his average. Absentees can get no more than (8) points, however, his opponent must win all his points.

12. Players will be allowed to roll the ball no more than 6” from anywhere on the course, except in a sand trap. A golfer may order up his opponent at any time. Fred Gregory, Dan Zdeb, Ron Myers, John Mahn, Sonny Carmichael, Don Servalish and Alex Cameron have the option teeing off from the forward tees.

13. Sand bunker play – you are allowed to remove any loose impediments from the sand such as stones and twigs without penalty. However, be careful not to move your ball or you will incur a penalty stroke.

14. The penalty for Out of Bounds and Lost Balls will be one (1) stroke only without loss of distance. Take a drop at nearest point of relief.

15. Any rules dispute must be challenged by contacting a league officer immediately upon completion of the round. If the dispute involves penalty situations, it is suggested that you complete the hole playing the first ball as it lies and then playing a second ball from a relief scenario.

16. Disputes will be settled by the Rules Committee (a league officer may substitute for a Committee member if one is not present or is involved in the dispute).

17. Your league cost will include a year-end scramble outing on September 19, 2015 at Whispering Willows in Livonia.

18. USGA rules apply to all situations not covered by these league rules.

19. Jackpots will consist of Individual Skins ($8.00/man) and Closest to the Pin ($2.00/man).

  1. Each golfer will then be flighted as A, B or C. To be classified in the ‘A’ flight your handicap for this match will fall between 0-11; for ‘B’ flight 12-17; and, ‘C’ flight 18-up. You will only compete against golfers in your own flight. Closest to the Pin will not be flighted. Secretary may adjust flights for equality on a weekly basis.
  2. Members from the group listed to go off first will collect this each week. This foursome will be responsible for figuring the skins winners at the end of golf and turning the scorecards into the secretary. This jackpot is mandatory for the year once you declare in; you may, however, choose only to participate in the Closest to the Pin.

20. There will also be an optional eagle pool and closest to pool for the entire year. The cost will be $20.00 for each pool. This is payable anytime before the end of the season, see John Wilamowski for both pools. You must declare to John within the first two weeks if you are in or out. Walt Malkowski will also pick up an optional skins jackpot. The cost is $5.00 per week and this pot is not handicapped.
