EVENT TRAINING AT EASTER
IDEAL PREPARATION FOR EVENTING IN 2018
Rally format:
Day 1: Flatwork and SJ followed by on-foot event training in the evening.
Day 2: XC
Please note that you can’t do the XC day unless you have already done the flatwork & SJ day
Dates:
April 2nd: Flatwork & SJ followed by on-foot event training in the evening
April 3rd: XC
Venues:
April 2nd:New House Farm, Coedyrallt, St. Martins SY11 3DR*
April 3rd: Kelsall Hill,Organsdale Farm, Middlewich Rd, TarporleyCW6 0SR
Duration:
Flatwork & SJ day: Total ride time of approximately 1 hour 40minutes
XC day: Approx1 hour & 15 minutesof teaching in the schooling field at Kelsall
Plan for the first day:
2 sessions (one flatwork, one jumping) to run consecutively (flatwork first) for each rider, with 20 minutes between sessions to change tack
Max 2 riders per session
Dressage test riding (Instructor: Sarah Warner): Work in, then ride a test of your choice, get feedback from Sarah, then ride the test again (second test to be videoed)
Jumping a course (Instructor: Jani Tulloch): Work in, walk a course with Jani, ride the course, get feedback from Jani, then ride the course again
On-foot event training(day1 only) starting at 6 pm: Jani will provide supper plus instruction on getting your pony fit for eventing, use of studs, what happens at a one-day event and how to plan your time on the day. There will also be a practical session on improving your jumping position and you will receive one-on-one feedback on the dressage test that you rode in the morning, using the video recording.
Dress:
Flatwork & SJ: Long sleeves required; body protectors optional; no jackets please
XC: Long sleeves & body protectors required; no fixed peak hats; no jackets please
PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL HATS MUST BE TAGGED WITH THE NEW ‘MINT’ HAT TAGS

April 3rd: £28 (including XC course hire)/head/day
If we have fewer than 10 riders on the XC day the cost will increase slightly (probably by about £3/head) – we think this is unlikely and will let you know if that is the case, before you commit
