Lipreading Classes
Who are lipreading classes for?
Lipreading classes are designed with people with a hearing loss in mind, who may be finding it difficult to follow conversations.
Sometimes, friends and families of people with a hearing loss also come along to learn how to communicate better with their friend or relative.
The emphasis of the class is on fully including people with a hearing loss so that they can fully understand what is going on in the class.
Our qualified teacher has a hearing loss herself so has a good idea of the problems that can be caused by deafness.
What do we do in the group?
Lipreading classes offer:
- Lipreading practice in a friendly atmosphere
- Strategies and tactics for difficult situations
- A chance to share problems with other with similar difficulties
- Information about assistive devices (such as flashing door bells)
